I wish, haha. No my dad keeps one tag a year for me or him, so we trade off, rock paper scissors it, bet it, haha etc... good compitition for the tag usually. He drew a couple other tags so just let me take it this year.

Found any good goats up there?

Yeah, I have found a few. I have only done a few short half day hikes so far. July is super busy for me so I can't justify getting out longer. However the first week of August I will be heading out on a four day backpack trip and cover 35-40 miles. I want to determine after that one which area to spend my hunting time in. I plan on doing another 2-3 over nighters as well. Should be fun.

Those are some sweet pics. So did you find any goats? I did this last weekened...

Had to bring this back up!

I'm still kicking myself for not taking my camera... But... There were tons of Goats up on ben lomond peak saturday night.
My buddy and I rode our crf's up... About 150 feet from the peak I run into a herd of them... One of the coolest things I have seen!
I could not beleive how full and clean their coats were.
There were easily 30 or more of them... My buddy said they put them up there a couple years ago?
I have a couple OK pics on my phone... Too far away but you can see them... If someone wants a pic PM or text me your #.
I plan on going back up with my camera.

I take it the trail is free of snow now then? I hiked the Twin peaks saturday and ran into a whole herd of Goats. Got some killer shots of them on the ridge with SLC in the background.

All the goats in this state were transplanted or decendants from Olympus National Park in washington. The first goats being brought in 1981. Personally i think they are the coolest animal ever... just watching them jump around on vertical cliffs boggles the mind...

Worthless without Pics????:D

I'm the worst person ever to ask for pics:mad:
Some day I will get a home PC.

Phatty... Trail is 95% clear... There are a few small drifts on the backside on the switchbacks, but you can fairly esily navigate around them.
The trail is great right now... A little dusty.
If anyone wants to make the dirve let me know.
We hit north ogden divide about 6:30pm... Hit the peak and made it down just before sunset.

Thanks Mike.
Little blurry but way cool.........:D

Thanks for posting Ron:beer;
My buddy took the pic... He is not a single track/technical rider to say the least... He was huffing and puffing and having a hard time. (obviously shaky taking the pic before we lost site of them)
Because of the snow there was a really rocky technical part about 50 yards from the top... He tried it once and gave up.
I hit the summit by my lonesome and ran into a couple hikers... The girl was a looker and the view was amazing:eek:
Looking down into the valley wasn't bad either;)

Nice pics phatty. Goats are pretty amazing. I found 15 more up in kermsuh basin. Not close enough to them for any good pics of them, but the scenery is spectacular.

That is not my day pack. We went overnight. So it has my tent, stove, bag, clothes...etc, etc. It was only about 65 pounds.

Nebo is an awesome mountain and a fun hike. I highly recommend it. The nebo loop is also a sweet road (pedal bike) ride. I would love to hike it with you, but since I drew this goat tag in the Uintas, I am spending all my extra hiking time scouting different areas of the Uintas. If you would like to join me, I could always use someone else to come along. I usually go on Mondays - Wednesdays. Today I am heading into Allsop Lake and will come out tomorrow. I will post pics later in the week.

Nope, I was at the lodge for the first half of the day, then home with the family. Oh, it was my wifes b-day.
