Seriously though, if your up for it, I'll be headed out about once a week or so if you want to join me on one or two. Awesome country, but you already know that.

For sure. Only problem I see is that we are weekenders.
You able to break away one of these weekends?

BTW: any word on that cabin for Marc?

Is that Iron Mine mountain just off the mirror lake highway, just northeast of the soapstone road? If so, that is in my area to hunt.

We were directly south of the Iron Mine Lake and Iron Mine Creek along the big cliffs. We only saw 2 this year but last year we ran into about 8 of them. Man, what I'd do for a tag up there...

I know that area all too well!!!! :( Ron is familiar with that drainage also... thanks again to all who help get us out of there this past winter ....

If you talk to him and he is still interested, you should have him give me a call. There are a couple we could go look at.

I'll have him call you and arrange to to meet. Good excuse for him to bring bikes and ride.

Thanks! I think your right. I am seeing lots of bucks with some real good mass this year. I can't wait until mid September. I look forward to hunting season as much as I do the snowfall!

ditto. I look forward to hunting more than snowmobiling. Big deer is what i live for.

Whats your dates on that hunt?

Heres my buck i took last year on our CWMU (Roan Cliffs) Not my biggest but it meant the most to me.. tough tough hunt last year...

The dates are sept 15 - oct 18. I plan on taking him with my muzzleloader.

That is a sweet buck. What is he....28" wide or so?

Here is the buck I took last year in Idaho. He is only 19" wide but still scored 174 gross.

ya my buck last year was 28 and 1/2. Your idaho buck is bigger though!!! that thing is nice! love those forks.

If i've shoot my buck by then on our place i'll come down and spot for ya :)

Here is a buck like yours i shoot three years ago, only 25 wide but killer forks! officially made B&C and 198 gross, and 192 Net

I love those deep forks! Beautiful buck. Very symmetrical as well. I would be stoked to have a shot at a buck like that.

I'll take you up on your offer. You can never have too many spotters, or help packing out for that matter. It's rough country......especially when your pack weighs 100+ pounds.

Good luck on your hunt. You own a cwmu?

No we don't own it. A coal mine owns its. We have just leased the hunting rights for last ten years or so, so my dad runs it as a CWMU so we can hunt from september 1st to november 12th
