My Greazy Project Ultra RMK NUMBER DEUCE!!!!!

Almost all parts needed are in. Awaiting a brass 4 way coupling to make the airbox connections for the holtzman more bulletproof than the standard nylon connections. Wheel bearings should be here Monday. Had to wait a week for 3/16x1” rivets to attach the replacement rail bumpers on the rear skid steer since nobody carried them in town. Disassembly and reassembly itself doesn’t take long. It’s just waiting for parts, finding out some are not as advertised, returning and. Finding the correct part. Going to be doing a lot of work tonight and tomorrow to prep reassembly once those other two parts come in.

Swapped the pinkish skid plate for a black one. Anyone have need for the pink one…I know a guy.

That is one wonky jet setup. Needle jets set for 0-3000ft, 25 pilot for 6000+ and main jets for Everest altitude. Going to set it for 3000-6000 ft -20f and lets the Tempaflo adjust how lean it wants to go. Live at about 3500ft, ride right at 6000 near home.

Replacement bearings went on last night. Chucking the upper idlers in trade for stock smaller circumference wheels. One had gotten chunked by the track pretty good. I don’t see any benefit in keeping a larger upper idler and only see the negative of keeping the reduced clearance to the tunnel and reducing the floatation footprint of the bottom contact surface. Stick on the smaller stock size idler and I should be able to get a wee bit more adjustment for a slightly larger footprint.

Bars are setup and added frogzkin to the airbox.
Fyi.

Motion pro will make custom throttle cables if you want to reduce your throttle pull resistance on the triple carburetors. (By Getting rid of the throttle cable extension and slider)

Another triple - thumb fatigue trick is using an older skidoo 2 stage throttle with the easy pull 1/3 for cruising.

that jetting is way weird, back in my triple days we used to cut the springs or spin the throttle around and pull the flipper with fingers instead of push with a thumb, mind you we were running triple 44mm carbs.

This is awesome. Went to refresh the bushings. Snapped off the rear trailing arm bolt on both sides. I found a used left footrest structure with the bolt bracket. I can’t find a left currently. Anyone by chance know where I can find one? Part # 1011861 (for 96 Ultra RMK)

Drill and tap?

(Those bolts ALWAYS rust weld in place) I broke both on my first sled in 1999…… (it was 6 years old at the time.

i replied to your other post on this as i have had the same thing happen, but here is my sugestion. weld a larger nut on to the end filling up most of the threaded inside like a plug weld, then while it is still warm use an impact gun on it to remove bolt. the heat usually breaks up the rust and loctite

wow so much to comment on lol! I have drilled right through a broken trailing arm bolt before and successfully ran a long shouldered bolt with nut on the inside. way it should'v been imo. SLP jetting/clutching reccs are for ice racing practically. I too run same jets across the board with only the lower end of the airbox and thin foam filter over that. running 340s in mine no issue down to 2000'. only premo non-e gas tho. I also have SLP heads, you might possibly too, it helps the rmk especially. Im doing bored carbs now and I bought Boyesen rage cages to try, not sold on them tho, might send back, unless anyone can confirm their superiority lol. they cleaned up some stubble on my cat so...
would love to see the instruction sheet on the v-force. both require the boot cutting on this model, fun fact.
nice work!
Oh hey, what was y'all commenting in first vid about? thought I detected little water pump whir. they get loud when they're on the way out.

Bolt came out on the side of concern. Going to Rivet the right side footrest in today or tomorrow. Found this little problem when I replaced the jackshaft bearing on sled #1, verified the assembly on the microfish then looked over at sled #2 and noticed this. Parts on order but can anyone else see the problem? I don’t know how long it was like this or how the bearing didn’t fail.

Got the Airbox setup by ripping out the old foam and covering with Frogskinz. Then installed the Holtzman Tempaflo. Little confuzing at first as little photo info for the TM Roundslide cars with images. Contacted Barry Holtzman and he clarified the install quickly. I used brass fittings and the black rubber air lines as my preference.
