Look what I found!

Well, to make it brief I had a long day with probably 11 miles and 5k vert. Up and down and up and down and so on. I got with 30 yards of two nannies and a kid. That was pretty fun. I found a number of billies, some of which were in a good spot to take a shot but by the time I closed the distance (around a mile) they were up in some nasty stuff and a shot would have been a bad idea. I got to watch a lot of billies today and get a good idea of where I want to be next time. I have 5 weeks to seal the deal, so I am not in a hurry. I just want to make sure that when I take the shot that 1. it is the right billie and 2. that the goat won't tumble 2000 ft to the bottom of the mountain. I'll be heading back up three times this next week and we'll see what happens. I'll keep you all posted.

It was a long drive to Kamas. Hooked em up with some Jerkey. I think it's OK now.

Well, I tagged out and ended up with a great goat and a lot of work. Our packs were over 80 lbs each on the way out. But here he is.

And WOW!!!! That is one beautiful lake. You have to tell me which one it is because I want to hike there.

Yeah, a full body mount. Goats just look goofy any other way. Don't know where we are gonna put it though.

That is Mcpheaters. It is in middle basin. It is an 8+ mile hike from the Christmas Meadows trailhead. We just parked at the highline trailhead and hike over the top from there. Makes it just a few miles in, but you have to go over a real steep ridge that way.

So maybe not a kid friendly hike??? But then again they weigh less than your pack.
We are gettin them ready for bigger, better, longer hikes. I love having them with us. They get a kick out of so much more than we do. Taking the kids makes me appreciate what we have right under our nose!
