You will have an excellent time. There are MANY safe places to play in the mountains without exposing yourself to bad terrain
Travel smart and look and test the snow around you. Allan, Clemina and Chappell all offer great areas to play away from avy danger.
Anyone up in the hills should be avalanche educated in some way, even if its a weekend course, dont think that spring is any safer than mid winter with loads of fresh. The sun plays a huge role in natural triggers. You will pick up these lessons from a weekend course, like Zacs Tracs offers
We put ourselves out there, no one makes us go, but we must make educated dedisions, based on the days weather, recent snowfall, and local knowledge.
Incidents like this are terrible, but if one good thing can come, hopefully it will send a buch of up and coming sleddars into a classroom for an avy course.
