You bet we are leaving friday afternoon riding Saterday and till about 3 on Sunday then bookin it home. Staying right across the street at the Chalet. We are thinkin about doing Oasis what are you planning on riding?

Rode Allen today, a bit of fresh up top, probably about 3 inches and lightly snowing. Trail is holding up not bad, but a couple more warm days and it will be fairly bare at the bottom. Don't park on the snow in the morning, it will be a slush pit by the time you get back!!;)

Only about 20 sleds in town today, most at the Canoe!

Mixed light flurries with periods of heavier snow in Allen:(. Still not much accumulation when we left the cabin at 5:00pm. 3 inches in places, but visibility was a problem today. That's why I didn't see the hole I fell in today, slowly coming downhill, then into a drift pit;). Some epoxy and everything is back together, now if we could get the TApex in our group running right, we could tear up all the new snow before the weekend riders get here.

We will prolly ride Renshaw sat, Either Keyhole or Oasis Sun. We are not sure. Maybe Allen.. we see.:D
I have your cell # still, I will PM you my contact number.
We are driving a 98 white chev 3500 with 3 on the trailer, and one in the box.

Should be a fun weekend, Lets meet up at the moose, or the log'n'rail.

Curtis, you in for a beer?

Anyone else?? I will have my summer sucks jersey on!! LOL

ill meet you for a coke;) been off da booze since my last hurrah on my B-Day in January. Cant even smell a beer now...haha

Rode Clemina today, up to 12" of fresh in places, 6" was the average. Bright blue skies, tracked up most of our ususal places. Morning Glory is windblown as usual. Great day, but looking like no fresh tonight. Trail is melting fast below the power lines, but lots of snow up high.

Well, I have to say that the conditions were quite exellent for being almost may.

Ride up from the highway, trails were still great.

Did Oasis Sat, had some tree trouble getting in.... ran into Sasksummit, I was there once before and I was impressed with the views. Truly an amazing place. YOu can see some of the places from Allan creek cabin.
Sunday...Allan. Found some new spots that were untouched, good time to explore. Had fun and that is what it is all about.

There is a lot of snow still up top. I figure a month left there for the die hards.

Curtis, sorry we didn't hook up, I never checked my computer until I got back..

I might be back one more weekend. It is that good up there.

Well got back last night rode Oasis saterday as Marcuso mentioned first time for me but definetly not the last. What a huge area we mostly explored put did take a couple of poked here and there. The place is huge we picked our way back about 4 bowls and it looked like there where tracks further but we didn't see the way into it. The snow was setup and sticky in there but lots of untracked. Lots of the climbing is on North facing slopes with big old cornices hanging over so you have to be pretty choosy about where you climb. Rode the Dixion Glacier for the first time that is a nice place as well snow was alot different in there about 6 or 8 inches of fresh. Left there about noon to ride back through all the bowls and pick up the trail at KM 14 but never made it. Had Buddy on the end of the rope back down to the truck.Trail are holding up well but you will have to start driving up aways before long. Still a pile of snow up top I would say they could ride right into June if you are a diehard.

Want to ride valemount/mcbride this weekend coming up (may 2,3,4) and wondering where the best place to head this late is ???? Don't want to ride on 5km of mud and rocks to find snow. We have a 4 place trailer so would like to ride from the lot>???????

Any help or info would be great

As well are they done grooming there???

Its been snowing on us all morning:D and you cannot even see the mountains. Should be some good snow up there this weekend. The weather network is calling for snow over the weekend as well. Valemount Pines golf course is also open, so an energetic bunch can ride the the first half and golf the second !

A friend was up Allan yesterday in roughly 5" of snow. You will be fine with the trailer, just back it up towards the toll booth in the upper Allan Creek lot and you should be on snow the whole trail. The lots are bare, but the snow starts just passed the toll booth.

As for Clemina, I would park at the FSR pullout just passed the main parking lot on the left. Parking here you will miss a long muddy stretch, although you may encounter some dirt along that long corner around the swamp at 2km, but that should be it.

Im thinking about heading up to Valemount this weekend for a last ride. I have never been there as I just started riding halfway through this season (bought a MF-in' 08' DRAGON because Im hooked on the sport so much!)

Anyways, I was thinking about going to Allen Creek as you seem to gain elevation quick and i read about some nice climbs and bowls right off the trail. We also dont want much mud riding. My buddy and his girlfriend will be joining me so far; so i think this trip we are looking for play areas that are visable from the trail as she might have a hard time going over the top of a few to get to play area's; and me and my buddy dont know sweet F.A. about the Allen creek area but I think this time of year with the trails melting and what we are looking to ride (me and buddy like to climb, play,etc... his GF can sit and watch us as I know she wont be climbing ...) Allen would be the best area for us.

Looking for opinions as well as conditions from all you guys up there this weekend at Allen and other area's.

Thaks in advance boys
:beer;

Hey Ron,
I think Allan would be a good bet. You might have to do some 1/2 gravel, 1/2 snow for the first km or 2... no biggie, the payment for spring riding outweighs that.
You will find that leaving the trail before the cabin is pretty much a waist of time, plus I think to wander from the trails before the cabin, might put you in the caribou habitat.

You will find that play areas pretty wide open north of the cabin, and don't be afraid to go west of the cabin, there is a good big easy play area there.

You can't lose with Allan creek. Clemina is also a good place to go and have a blast.
