Sledding and Alcohol?

Here's another thought. Read your insurance policy....then consider how you'll feel after a law suit takes your house away 'cuz you were over the limit when you hit someone and voided your insurance.:(

Define: Over the limit. Every state has a legal limit. Did you read any of the above posts. So are we all over the limit because we choose to have a beer at lunch. Holy chit, get off your high horse that everybody that has a beer is a drunk. Gawd damn you judge mental bastards make me want to puke.:beer;:beer;

I started out being nice and wanting peace, close minded idiots get me going.

If 2 beers puts me at a disadvantage because you can't haul your asss up a hill or do a good search when i'm buried in an avalanche, i'd say you're over the limit.

I don't care if you drink or not, as long as it doesn't affect me. I'm selfish like that.

drinks?

man that was a wake up i guess, got so drunk at the pub on purpose on sled planned it all out. every time id drive to the bar in the car id be in the ditch on the way home anyway. so why not start in the ditch so you dont have to worry about it? well i just passed out while driving in the middle of a cross country expidition on a loud azz mod sled. just couldnt make it work, i woke up hours later with no clue where i was. the bar was 10 miles from home i think i got back to about two from home! that was like two or three years ago. was also the only time i drank and rode decided it wasnt for me. i think it was a top speed of twenty mph

Mule:
So I've read that you deal with this for a living. Maybe in a stressful panic situation a beer or two might calm a person down and enable them to do the right thing in a calmer manner. You're an expert. lets hear it.

you guys know i am all about drinking, but i will save it for after riding. the way i see it is that with the folks i ride with if we were to get into trouble i would count on them as much as they would count on me to make sure we get home safely. So one beer with dinner at the lodge then i can drive home, don't pull the drinking and driving crap, 1 beer. the rest when i get home. But there was one time when i smoked my leg on the running board and chased oxy with beam, but my leg phukin hurt.

I usually start the day off with an 8ball of coke, then after about 20 minutes I snort a hefty line of crank, go steal some tools, tires, some useless crap like window signs, Obama/biden lawn signs (burn em to keep warm) and whatever else I can get my hands on to sell enough for more fixes and gas money for the sleds, (which is usually alot since I average about a 3 day straight runner of stealing stuff) Hell I even steal other peoples sleds then crash those so it doesnt matter and just when I think im starting to come down off that nice wide eyed high I shoot a nice full siringe of heroin and its off to the races for mattymac (once agin!) WHOO HOOOOO!!!!!!

JK, Hell if you drink just dont be an azz and learn to control yourself. I load up the backpack with a few frosty cold e-mobilizers!

How many of you guys have ever drove to a bar after work or just to have a beer or two then drive home??? Most have done it or do it but be honest, you guys are just like me probably and say yeah moderation, under control or whatever its OK right!

you say this now but what if this guy who had a beer plowed into your wife and kids in town?

then all of a sudden its not alright? What if this same guy had a tire blow out and crashed into a ditch and died all by himself on a lonely country road? does it really matter now??

What if your wife ran a stop sign and it wasnt the guys fault? If he had a beer in his system it automatically gets blamed on him!

If the tire blew out no one may never have known that but if they do a toxicology BAC on him then yep alcohal is to blame right?

me, i hardly stop long enough to wolf down a sandwich when sledding, to much fresh to chew. i do ride with other guys that drink and smoke weed, their choice. but when guys can hardly walk let alone ride thier sled it can be a little iffy. now after a day of sledding, thats a differant story.:beer;

Police and toxicology, that is cluster F waiting to happen. In CO they revising the chemical tresting regs, they F-ed them up so bad, comments have been submitted to the Colorado board of health. I will attend the hearing on the 19th.

So now I'm getting it. You take a guy that enjoys a couple beers and full spin it to a my kid, friend or relative got killed or hurt by a drunk and now anybody that has an alcoholic beverage is a drunk. Nice job on the stereotype. My grandmother was hit and killed by a drunk driver while following my grandpa. I don't judge everyone as a bad person because they drink. This post is so judgmental. Like I said earlier. You don't drink or your a drunk. Come on. Get a grip.

watch out!

sled head you better not run over my grandma in the middle of some random mountain range, id be real upset. all that was left was that bent up walker waaaa

i have to agree that i want someone in capable of getting me out of an avy, but i dont think a few beer will affect that. being drunk on the other hand, probably not good

Now back to this drinking at the trailer??? Its better to have a couple beers at the trailer and go home/hotel/whatever? personally i would rather have a extra beer at lunch, then drive my truck down a steap icy road with a 30 foot trailer and a fresh beer or two in my stomach.

in moderation

ride all day like its the olympics ....after the day ..crack a beer or 6 on the way homw with a designated driver .best times ever

so now what if 2 beers put you over the legal limit? and you got a dui? we both know that 2 beers in says 30 min plus the 20 min observation period would be right about .08 at elevation. Yes i think you are fully ok to drive but the law says no?

Remember I've had aaaaaaaaa BEER "that means one" and I'm so wasted I can't take out the garbage cans. :beer;:eek:
