Sledding and Alcohol?

hard2handle...you can move on. I have had 3 friends die because of snowmoble/Alcohol accidents.

Our group rides all day, and after we have a beer. A newbie in the group stated to me that this year he will have a flask with him for a warmer up. Seee Ya. I ride bikes, atv's etc. If I mess up I do not want it related to alcohol. I get a rush or high if you will with the adrenaline that comes with Mtn riding or being with my buds in the backcountry. Not with some stoned or drunk idiot with a throttle. Thats for after the ride in moderation...

quit worrying about other peoples problems....if a drunk sledder hits you and kills you then it was meant to be. theres nothing you can do to change it....so relax and have fun and quit worrying about other peoples choices

This one wins "Most Intellectual Post" of this thread in my opinion. Congratulations Sunshine. You're special and don't let anyone tell you any different.

Dam straight I worry about other people's choices too if their choices put mine or my loved one's lives in danger.

If you feel that some things are "meant to be", then take a revolver, put a single bullet in it and go play "One Click" with yourself. If you don't see tomorrow....well it was "meant to be". At least you didn't change innocent people's lives.

I knew this post would bring out the Stupidity in some people. I apologize to all the common sense folk who posted a intelligent reply but had to read some of this other garbage.:rolleyes:

I used to race cars. I didn't drink before racing cars. I don't drink while hunting. I don't drink while riding motorcycles, or cutting with a chainsaw, or operating heavy equipment, or while driving a semi full of hazardous materials.

And I don't drink while riding sleds. I used to on fun runs to try to make them fun, but eventually i quit going on the "fun" runs.

Now I will go for a ride, get done, and have a beer at the trailer if the roads are not too bad and I'm not hauling a 4 place down the canyon.

When I get back to the valley, I'll down a 12 pack with the buds and call a cab.

Haha, this is just like the Drinking while 4x4'n on the Jeep forums...:D

I Brew, therefore I drink. I will take a tasty micro on the trail with me fo-sho....but that in no way means myself or any of my group is anywhere close to drunk and/or alcoholics.

Since the beginning of time man has made/drank 'spirits', it's why we are still here today. Back in the day if you didn't/couldn't drink you were more susceptible to disease and water-born bacterias, and would die from dehydration from something as simple as diarrhea. I'd like to think of it as preparing myself for a future pandemic outbreak. Those that don't/can't drink are more likely to die without modern medicine, and that's a fact jack.

There's just something about the mountains that makes everything taste better.

:beer;:beer;:D:beer;:beer;

I don't drink out west on the hill/trail.

I really enjoy getting ****faced in the bar at night though. Super ****faced. It's a good time :)

I don't drink and ride and don't ride with those who do because I don't want them drunk when I need my azz saved. However, I am not going to bash those who chose to...they will probably learn the hard way why it is a bad idea. A beer or two on the hill, probably not a big deal...

That said, I can tell you that when our club did the garbage clean up this September up at Baker, the bulk of the garbage...far and away...was beer cans and cardboard beer cases. Please pack it out peeps...we don't need another reason for the greenies to get on us :mad::mad:

Here Here!

If we can get anything from this thread how about if your going to pack some beer in drink it responsibly and PLEASE PACK IT OUT!!!!!!!!

I think the greenies could get an area shut down real fast if they could prove people were riding around and drinking...if you pack it out and your not wasted they won't have evidence.:):beer;

I save road sodas for the ride home.:D
