Rudes 2005 snowhawk build

oil

Jeremy

Have you drop oil in your piston for storage? If yes you can end up with more compression.Crank it a few time without plugs to free up the oil and to fill your gas pump and carbs. This take about 20 crank to fill. After that it should fire up.

Brand new motor, It probably just needs to be ran and the rings need to seat. You can't do a compression check on a brand new rebuild like that.

when you did the compression check how many times did you pull to get 92lbs. I am no expert but I just rebuilt my motor and it had 150lbs in 5 pulls with throttle held open on each cyl before it ever ran

comp test

you should always hold throttle open when doing this test because it allows maximum air intake. On that many pulls you should have more comp. than that i'm sure. I check my 600 and had 140 lbs in 3 pulls.

i dont have the compression tester anymore. i borrowed it from a out of town friend wen he was viseting. you guys think im probley ok then? someone do the test with the carbs closed and tell me what your #s were.

Just run it.. It wont start if the comp is really low. let the rings set and do it again if you want.. getting another reading from someone else wont help..
You have to open the throttle wide open.. 3 pulls is the standard..
with the throttle closed your chocking off the motor and will get inconsistent results..

I was just wondering about the dimensions, length, when the chamber starts, length of chamber, ect. Too see how close they are. The can is definitely different, looks to be lighter. Sure wish I would have had the money to get one. Oh well maybe later in the year.

I like the rad with the both ports on the top.. you will have to add a cap up there, as thats now your high point..Sweet Pipe
