Great idea for getting your wife to ride more.

Skadi: GP is the Queen of flop. I know she would be happy to give you some pointers. Easier to show in person though. Ask her about Salsa Hill next time you talk to her.

www.snowshoe-lodge.com Check it out, its legit, beautiful place for serious riders and their wifes, kids, friends who ever they want to bring out. Just dont bring out both at the same time.......

My bad there...I posted that last one on the wrong thread.....anyway...it is a nice place....the big horns are a great place to ride with your lady friend because you can really pick your poison.....Trails, mild hills big hills you can determine the difficulity of riding you want.......Its a great place to build your confidence.

My wife likes to ride...but she's been pregnant too many times to really have a lot of fun at it. LOL

We're done with that now. She plans to ride again this year.

She had a 97 XLT for a about 7 years.
We took an 06 600 RMK out in spring of 05 on demo. I made her ride the XLT for about 5 miles before I let her get on the demo. LOL
She got on that thing and was asking how much deposit the dealer needed before she was 100 yards down the trail. LOL
She had the checkbook out before we took it back to the dealer. LOL

So you figured out what was causing that huh? :D

Good on all of you that get your wife/girlfriend out. All of these stories are very good encouragement for those ladies that are worried about getting yelled at and doing something wrong or damaging the sled.

It doesnt matter if it's your wife/girlfriend or if it's your buddy on his first ride, show them, teach them and they will be the first person you look too when your looking for someone to go riding with.

i got lucky, my wife has always wanted to tag along and learn new things. she rides dirt bikes and supermoto bikes, rides sportbikes, wake boards, skis (water and snow), and loves snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.

she truely is my best friend, and my favorite riding partner. she gets discouraged and hates getting stuck. not that she hates getting stuck as much as it is, she hates needing help getting out, and she thinks that distracts from our fun. but like i have said to her, and it has been said above... if you dont try and fail, and then try and do, you wont progress as a rider or person.

seeing her riding in the same areas we do, and out riding some guys in some cases really puts a smile on my face. most guys cant wait to get away from the wife, i for one embrace the times i turn around and she's right there by my side, riding the same lines, while the other guys ask... how can i get my wife more interested to do that??? that my friends is priceless.

and i for one would much rather wake up next to her in the hotel or lodge than some sweaty snoring guy. LOL! i need to get her to the girls ride site. she is a member of femoto, and cycleangels. cant wait to go out west this year with her. ski

Ahhhh how stinkin sweet. Your post put a smile on my face. Your wife rocks. Awesome pics!!!

Sounds just like a post I wrote about my wife (girlpowder). Accept ours had a hidden helicopter in it. Ha Ha. Where are you from?

Oh Yeah, nice post. Sounds like there are a bunch of us lucky guys that have a wife/girlfriend for a best friend and companion too. :D:beer;

On the flip side though, you get a chick who knows how to ride AND has common sense?!?! yer gonna have one hulluva riding buddy!

I've rode sled with a lot of people over the years. I met and rode with one of the best riding buddies, a respected woman exactly like you speak of.
She goes by the title of 'Live2ride' on this site.
Thanks Kristy ! (well, except for giving me heck for being too wild at times.. hehe)

MT we should get together and do a wife ride this season. My wife is just learning and she gets discouraged easily. Every time we go out with another couple she's always the noob and hates being the weakest link.
I think our wives could help each other out.

SnowSnob (and anyone else interested)....Every year we have a ladies ride on Super Bowl Sunday sponsored by the local club here in Helena, MT (you might already be aware of this). No men are allowed in the ride except for a few bringing up the rear in case of trouble. The women organize this ride and seem to have a great time. Its a good place for them to network and find other couples that like to sled. The club usually provides food and drink, a raffle and other give-aways. The ride is open to all women. The event is usually finished by Kick-off time but everyone is welcome to stay and ride. My wife had a great time last year.

Yeah she knows about the womans ride but I don't think she's interested in riding unless I'm with...she really only goes riding for me.
And surprisingly she doesn't like to trail ride which sounds like what the womans ride is all about.

i agree! i've unfortunatly only had the oportunity to ride with her once but i would give anything to be able to do it again. she has given me the confidence to know that i can ride. she also helped me figure out my former riding partner was my problem. my ex always yelled at me if i didn't do something or when i did do something he critisized the h*ll out me so i didn't think i could do it. i haven't had the oportunity to try it again but hope to some day soon.

btw - awesome pics - you ladies rock!!!

HAHAHAHAHA, thanks SH, what do you have that pic saved somewhere so you can go look at it when you're having a abad day?!?! hehehehe kiddin, it is funny, I still like to giggle at the whole sequence and how I really do look like a rag doll!

Ya VS, that would be stuck, VERY HARD!!! hahahaha I hadn't dropped all year and I got skert when I felt that void in front of me... No throttle means nose DOWN and Skadi rag dolling!! I was fine... I've taken WAY bigger hits before on the rugby pitch! Bruised ribs cause I don't wear a chest protector but hopefully next year I'll have one! In fact, the cameraman who took those pics was hopin to trade the pics for some tekvests... I gotta get back on him about that... cause apparently, in my willingness to make as azz outta myself I carry huge potential to hurt myself as well!! Lucky for me i actually do know how to wreck, doesn't speak much for my skill at riding I guess if I know how to wreck so well huh? ohhh welllll

Nah, you were taking a bow in advance!!!!

I agree...the womans ride is mostly trail but they do stop and play in a few spots. Sounds like she could help teach them a thing or two. :)

I know I'm a much better rider because of my guy. He always encourages me while we are snowmobiling. I've gone places where I never thought I'd go...because he knew my riding ability & that I could do it. He is patient...it has taken me awhile to learn...probably something to do with that common sense "fear factor". I love hillclimbing, but coming down is a different story. Nice to see there are so many supportative, cool, dudes out there.
