Arctic Cat Catalyst 858

Skidoo does, and on a proper dyno, it’s accurate. My old 2021 turbo dynoed at 166.5.

Excactly. BRP is only one to tell the results on certified dyno. These two other manufacturers rely on marketing gimmicks and speak about precentages, class leading horsepower, 165hp class or whatever b*llshit to make people think that they the most powerful engine in the class. Just release the honest HP and deal with it. I saw a lots of talk about 9R that it has 180-190hp, but the reality is that is has no more power than 7 year old 850etec lol.

What is a proper dyno? Only way it can be called proper if every brand is done on the same dyno, the same way, same day. Dyno's are giving you a number for a specific day only. To many variables to worry about IMO.

Definitely one that’s reads correctly and the operator know what they are doing, bikemans dyno results are a joke.

From what I have seen dynotech’s is pretty close.

I hate dyno talk.
Would much prefer graphs indicating actual power curves.
One can tune an engine for more 'peak' power to fool buyers with a number when in reality a few less HP over a wide RPM is a much more useful snowmobile engine.

Yup the 858 looks good!
One thing I would like to see is a Catalyst mountain hanging from a scale, I am sure this will happen soon.
The other thing I need is to ride one hopefully AC has some demos out this winter.
Rumor has it an 858 tour will be happening. I’ve Heard Island park demo the end of February.

Dynos will never match and are just a reference.
Altitude and many other factors cause variations.
Do we need dyno charts for every x elevation?
Hell no.

Pricing must be out. I haven’t look but a buddy sent me pics- 15,800 for the base model and 18,700 for an ATAC mtn cat

They are updating the website but you can no longer see pricing on the 2025 sleds. But there is a number of screen shots on fakebook.

FWIW this info was pulled from another forum but they are trail sleds so just to get an idea.

Kinda butt-hurt cause I paid that for the exact sled with a 600. Doesn’t matter I can’t use it but the fact it’s the same is a bit off for us 24 buyers lol. Guess we saw it coming though. The dealers should offer us something lol

Pretty sure msrp was 1,000 less on the 600?
