Catalyst Track comparison

Isn’t it a 2.86?
i forgot how old that track is that its a 2.86. when the 3 came out it, it was a big deal with the 3 inch pitch. buddies used to swap there early pro's and M series with 2.6 tracks. not surprising the 3 inch alpha is 10 pounds lighter not having the fingers and being a 3.5 pitch.

The original 2.6 twin rail powerclaw that came out in 2013 is 3.0 pitch too. They guys putting them on Polaris sleds had to change drivers. The 2.6 Alpha track that came out in 2022 was the first mountain track with the 2.86P for Cat.

i wonder why they changed to a 2.86. i was kinda right on the 3 inch pitch, lol but didnt know they changed it. would it be to to get more lugs to be better in set up snow.

I think that's exactly why they did it. More bite in harder/varied snow and better durability. Harder to tear off 2-3 lugs that are engaged on a rock or stump than a single one that's taking all the force.
