Adapt Clutch, any good?

Is it time to go back to the ol 12-15 cat clutches? I always got at least 2k miles out of those and then would just lose a roller not have an explosion.

I seized a roller at 900mi on my 14...
Cracked my Alpha at 1,100.

I always had decent luck with the cat clutches. Worst was a cracked spider, but still made it to around 2k miles. Got to where if I got close to 2k miles I would just order a new one and have on hand because I knew it was coming. My alpha also cracked at 1100 miles. Due to lack of good snow I’ve only got about 15 miles on the adapt. Guess I’ll just keep the fingers crossed and see how she goes.

They just replaced the team clutch on my 2019 for the 5th time. Mileage was 2593. I asked for the adapt clutch, but they sent the team under warranty. So, my question is what is a good aftermarket clutch to go to. I love my Alpha but the clutches suck!

This is currently in the experimental stage.

Haven't u had that on there for a yr now?

I had over 7k mi on my old 96 TRA.

What expensive secondary is that?

No answers till u post more adapt clutch explosion pics!

Only pic I have right now. Not my sled. Wear marks could also be because the pin was banging around when it broke while the clutch was spinning

The pin fully seats when you tighten up the torx screw on the opposing side- there is even a torx 30 slot on the open pin side to use as a back up-
Installing many weights on the adapts and the pin seats firmly into the tapered opening.. in fact you generally have to use a drift to unseat the pin from the clutch after the screw is removed.

Sounds suspect. Typical Snowest closeup of a damaged part along with the usual story of “it broke.”
Post more pics to restore your reputation and sled cred. Hahaha

Anybody find the adapt noisy? More... Metallic sounding? I may of already commented on this but between 6-7k and or sometimes on off the throttle it has a coarse sound like a bearings gonna go but engine runs good and put about 300 km on. Put the team on, and the noise is gone. Then my father's sled, 700 km 19 alpha, put the adapt on his too and its not as bad as mine but I can hear it, but his sounds more like at wide open throttle I'm hearing it a bit...

I believe the adapt went from 6mm weight pins to 8mm. I think the casting around the pins might not be enough. Haven’t held one of these babies in my greasy paws yet. Just speculating here.

Finally got a decent ride on my adapt and I agree it is quite noisy. All kinds of odd sounds coming from that region that I don’t remember with the team.

Its odd indeed, I sware my engines gonna let go but she keeps going! Put a team back on and it's normal again, will end up dealing with it in the end
