2023 cat. Where is it?

No DI no shot.
How are you suppose to get fuel in the expansion chamber without spinning a non DI?

What I hope they are working on is using the stator as start engine. But could be a bit to heavy if you need to spin it a few times.

maybe it will have e-start and shot for the morning limp-wristers who think they need an 850. a tether a key and 2 kill switches just in case

I will say that sometimes as a new rider it's hard to pull when the sleds all messed up in the snow and your tired and out of breath lol. I also see alot of used sleds that say "shots broken"...

I can’t see why not. Same as electronic reverse. I’m guessing one came up and they all shared.
From my understanding doo came up with it, poo sued doo over patent infringement on trailing arms or something like that so doo gave them the reverse to settle the lawsuit. Cat had to wait until the patent expired and that’s why cat didn’t get it until 2009 or so. So yes eventually they all might have it once the patent is up.

Maybe it’s a done deal. Supply the 120&200cc sleds for the shot technology in the new motor they are releasing this year ? Wholly that’s a mouth full of nonsense.

A new DI motor would be neat. Especially nestled in a new lightweight chassis. Hell throw a turbo on it too!

Nice thing about cats pull start being in the middle. Easy to get to even when it’s laying on its right side.

Yamaha and super light have never been in the same sentence.
If I remember correctly when the Mountain Max originally came out in 1997, it was the lightest sled in it's class. Yamaha was so proud of the weight of the sled, they even had one on a live scale at the new model reveal. But I get what your saying and that was a long time ago.

Ha. 97 mtn max took me from 110 mph to 0 in about ten seconds on Cascade lake in 1998.
Rental. Lake had cracked and lifted about 6” and game over quickly.
One abrupt slam and Slide!!!
Good thing I was only 23.

My mom won that drag race cuz she missed the lake shift luckily.

Had no choice….I believe skidoo invented the electronic reverse and all have it now …just meant it’s a matter of time on the start tech.
AC sued BRP for battery-less EFI patent tech pirated by BRP. Poo sued BRP for suspension coupling patent pirated by BRP. Doo offered E-reverse to settle those patent infringements. That's how it actually happened. The industry is full of IP overreach.

The electronic reverse was only patented for 5 ish years after that anyone could use it. Polaris did have legal action against Doo and through a settlement got to use it sooner than Cat. The reason for the 5 years was Doo was not the first to pattern a 2stroke running backwards, this was done long ago. So they were granted a 5 year protection as no one had used it in this application. The shot is in the same category using a magneto to start an engine was discovered long ago. Doo would have been granted rights for this idea in this application. I am by no means an expert in this subject but this is the info i have gathered over the years from reading the related info.
I don't see why Cat doesn't just use a light weight starter and a capacitor. Could probably have a working system under 10 lbs. Less complicated than Shot and most likely more reliable.

AC also had legal action against BRP (Bombardier at the time) for a safety feature on the Tiger Shark, AC was awarded 30 or 40 Million cant remember exactly, I believe this was never really settled until this last go around with BRP and the stop sale injunction.

When's cats 23 reveal? A bunch of 22 m8000's showed up at our dealer yesterday. All 165x3 a bunch with atac. All 16.9-17.9...so I just gotta ask cause iam honestly new to shopping for a snowmobile . Why are cats so expensive if they are heavier and hqve less displacement and chassis is not as good and running boards and alot guys don't like alpha and they are kinda plain looking and other things I read. I really like them for no real reason but now that iam looking hard I don't get it. Even the damn yamaha that's the EXACT SAME SLED is 14.4...so what gives. I'd actually buy one if it where just a little less. Theres somehow 16 sleds arriving now. 50 degrees on Saturday

The Bold New Graphics better have BOLD New Adhesive! What the heck cat! The stickers just fall off somewhere on the MTN some hikers Gunna love that this summer.
They better offer a twin rail next year the alfalfa sux. I knew I wouldn't like it but thought I'd give it a try. Its crap. Non line holding, washing out, rib breaking crap!
And lame azz grey, why are all brands so avid on using friggin grey!
But what's the other options a thousand pound poor handling Doo, or a light Polaris that won't keep an engine in it?
