2013/14 Big Horns N/S Snow Conditions

I hope I don't get in trouble for posting about hoping for snow in the 'Horns, and not posting actual snow reports.

got a report from a reliable source already over a foot on ground at burgess junction. Usually means hunt mtn and to the west gets huges dumps!

Where from bear is hunt mtn....Been riding in the horns awhile always heard about it never been sure where it is

From Bear, it is like a mile or two up the highway! Hunt Mountain is a road you can take on the left of the highway! I am pretty sure that is it!

More like 10-12 miles. You can get back in to hunt mtn by taking willow creek and do some back country riding, that would only be a couple miles out, maybe that's what you're thinking of.

Probably herding wolves to a safe place after all the crap they caught on here. Sorry. Couldn't help it. Never met them hope they are good people

Knox, well Bald Mtn snotel shows they have received about 12 inches. But, on the other hand still only 37" total, that still doesn't leave a whole lotta room between you and the rocks and stumps. I may be going this Saturday but I only have to drive 2 hrs. 7 hrs, I don't know, but I would say probably not yet.

Could end up being great, my opinion is soley off of Snotel data at this point. And we know they lie sometimes. But, I'm still a little worried about the landmines at this point.

I'm with ya there I don't need to replace a bulkhead this early in the season thanks

We rode Sunday after the bad boys raffle with the Destination X crew. Went to granite, there was enough snow to get around, some playing to be had, but lots of rocks exposed. The snowbikes were a blast though! First time getting to try one out.

My non-exciting riding picture, lol.

Some perspective on the snow conditions.

So glad it is finally snowing! The only bad thing is now the land mines will be hidden under a nice fluffy layer. :spy: Oh, the joys of early season! :face-icon-small-ton

I know some people who road hunt mountain which is down 14a toward hi country on your left (South). They said all of hunt mtn is covered before this snow and base is decent, especially for early season. Reported headlight deep snow heading up onto hunt from 14a up some creek bottoms. Have a few buddies headed out tonight from midwest (its bitterly cold so they may not) but I will see what they say.
