2011/12 Togwotee snow conditions

Depends on what you want to do. I have had up to 8. Not for me. I would just break up into 4 groups depending on skill and equiptment. Be alot more fun for everyone. I might be up there sat thru tues if you have a few that can keep up in the trees. I will take em for a few days. No snow in Utah Gonna hit Tog or Cooke on the way back to MN

I just got back home from a week of riding at Tog. Last week it snowed nearly every day to make for some fantastic riding. A word of advice. Hire a guide! Lefty and Noah took our group out to some great powder! I am pooped from the drive home, but will post Hero footage later.

Just curious how do you keep track of 20 riders??? We are heading out on Friday for a week and we will be 15 Riders...

The first day we rode with all twenty in one group. Were all good riders and have a group that big every xmas. The next to day we split up into 2 groups ten in each. Works good when you have a good leader and 2 guys that always stay in the back

No sweat. Love to ride with anyone. Could show you around Togwotee some and then some of my other areas that really aren't even on the map. Pretty remote backcountry areas with amazing riding. Give me a shout when you are close to coming. Going to be gone Feb 20-24 on a backcountry snomobile trip I do every year. Should be around most of the rest of February. Looking foward to it.

Togwotee is a big damn area. Snow conditions can very different in areas as little as 10 miles away. Some days you might have to search alot of area to find good snow, especailly early and late seasons. On the other hand, I have seen plenty of 700 plus inch years up there and the snow was epic from the trailhead to wherever you went.

We rode up there from Friday to Sunday and found really good snow. Just had to follow the wind. You still can't just rip around carefree but it's getting close just not much of a base. Good riding though had a blast. The snow is definetly unstable.

I don't know about the fight I guess we were there for a couple beers and left. That slide did come down from me going across the lower part of the hill. Definitely need to be careful.

Snow is kinda wierd right now. maybe 3 inches of powder on top of a inch of crust on top of 3-5 ft on powder agian.

Coming up from Salt Lake area. The heading back home to MN after a few days of riding.... Yeah was up there last weekend snow was weird then too. Seemed to have alot of pockets sled would just drop.

He's referring that the guilty party are from Wyoming.
From what I have heard from freinds that were there it was a group of people that sport the "307" logos that were getting out of hand.. That's why he is referring to "Wyoning boyz". I guess someone got kicked in the face while he was down and got his jaw broke.. The cops showed up and took someone to jail... Sad to see

I hate to say it but I'll be honest I think sledders have some of the biggest egos you'll find. If it's not who has the biggest baddest sled, it's who is the better rider, or who knows the area better and where the best snow is. I hate it! It gets so old. Sometimes I find it hard to find a decent sledder, that I don't know, to talk to at the bar after a few drinks that doesn't turn it into a d!ck measuring contest.

I am sure this isn't what the fight was about, but man I wish some people would leave there ego at home. On the other hand I have found some awesome guys to chat with.

I was out there last week too and heard about the fight on New Years Eve. It is a shame. I hope that the Lodge took action. As for the Wyoming Boyz, I am wondering how to join there club? I really can't make the move to Wyoming, but maybe if I wear designer jeans, a straight billed cap, and act like a puke I can be considered "in". Maybe.

I could care less but is it possible that this guy who got worked over ran his mouth and got what he had coming. I do not know but sometimes people just get drunk think their tough and get their *** kicked. Maybe just maybe they person who got beat up played at least a small role?
