I wish I was out there right now. I just looked at the NOAA forcast and its looking like its going to be awsome there for the next week or so. I sure hope to see some pics after this weekend. Have fun and most of all BE SAFE!

Just got and update from the JHMR. 55 inches is forecast to fall over the next 5 days!

I would almost wait, you won't be able to see your hand in front of you face if it snows that hard.

I like taking I 90 to rapid city ...Take Exit 61 at Rapid City go south to Hot Springs then head west thru Lusk Wyoming then you catch I 25 just east of Douglas wyoming then casper then Riverton then Dubois...There is a nice little short cut before you get to riverton (Hwy 134 ) you will miss Riverton all together

I have went south of rapid to hot springs and over to lusk, but found taking I-90 to gillette then south to casper is quite a bit faster(bypass the black hills and all the small towns). The shortcut to bypass Riverton is like pavilion road or something like that. You will go north initially for a couple miles then road curves back to the west, go to the dead end then turn left(south) and it will take you back to your original highway. Shaves 15-20 minutes.

Sorry, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, our ski resort. Yes, I still ski from time to time with the wife and kids......rather be on a sled though.

Blowing like an SOB. Flights cancelled. If making the trek, make sure the roads are open. This is a monster storm. Be careful driving and also riding, avalanche danger is sure to go through the roof. Seen some big storms in 18 years in Jackson, but this one is going to be one to remember. Might even be wise to delay your trip a few days.

I am also very serious about how bad the avalanche danger is going to be for a while. We have had a horrible setup of snow conditions and this storm is going to make certain parts of the backcountry deadly. It is best to simply stay off of anything steep for a while. Here is the link to the Togwotee avalanche site. Make sure you check it daily before heading out and realize conditions will change throughout the day-it is a great site and is kept up to date.

we rode at tog Sat, Sun,Mon..... From Mn. where we have NO snow!! We did get a real nice trail ride..Found some untracked in the trees, Not great but was still a ride..Very low snow conditions, Watch the forcast. They are just a storm away from Great Riding..
