2011/12 Big Horns North/South snow conditions

Snotels went up about 6+''. But suppose to warm back up after that, in my opinion they need more than that to make it a good ride.

bad snow or not, one more trip out there this weekend.:face-icon-small-coo

I don't know if it would be worth coming out, last weekend was total crap so much snow melted and the snow was hard every where even in the trees, they got like a foot of snow Monday and Tuesday, but it has gotten warm again so the snow is probably going to be really bad again this weekend!!!

we had one week of winter this year in MN and bought 2 new XF's. crusty or not i dont care as long as its white. :face-icon-small-ton
drive out friday, ride sat and sun drive back to mn monday. sound like fun at 4.20/gallon diesel. haha

give us a report

Going for snow - please give us an update when you get back. A group of us are thinking about coming out the following weekend.

New report as of 3-25-12
The 24th was warm like in the sixties and melting fast. The later in the day the better it was cause the snow would soften up a little. But once you got off the trail and broke through the crest, if your skies ever went under you were done for and the snow is so heavy that it was even tough to dig. All the trails are harder then a rock and lots of bare ground showing on the trails. If I was asked to go again just because some snow is better then no snow, no it's not. It's hard on the machines and the pocket book. Just my .02
Lots of land mines showing them selfes to so if they do get a good dumping good luck not finding one.

Thanks for the Update...even if it is depressing!!! Praying for SNOW!!!!

Just got back from big horns. I wouldnt bother going out there unless they get dumped on with alot of snow.

dosch 99 - Is there any snow at all ? Is there anything on the trails ? A group of us were planning on going to Bear Lodge this weekend.

was there friday, sat, sun
trails are still covered. it is just getting crunchy but is all white.
there was no winter in MN this year so my standards are low...

I wouldn't go again and I'm coming from some where that didn't get any snow this year. Just saying it cost alot of money to go out and ride why waste your hard earned money on rock hard snow? Just go ride in a field and get your jollys off and save the money!!

Why waste it? Because my son and i took off for a long weekend, just us, last ride of the year, the snow is soft in the afternoon, i like getting a tan during riding, he just got an M8 so he was excited to try it and you cant take it with you.:face-icon-small-win

to each their own cub....

Havent been up lately but i think the mountain got about 6" the last storm which was 2 days ago, the mountain was white which was nice to see. Has been pretty warm still over the past weeks, but looks like a new storm is coming in thursday and friday of this week says the forecast is about 6 more inches. I would guess spring riding is still the case with snow totals decreasing everyday with this warm weather. Riding is still good if you like the hero snow. Has been the first year i have really noticed without any good spring storm.

There is snow in the forecast all this weekend and next week!! There may still be hope of riding a couple more times!! Its SNOWING hard up there right now!!!:face-icon-small-sho
