so what exactly happened at fortunautus usually the whole thing sluffs and did balding sluff off yet. if u want some real excitement wait till midseason and wait for the real powder and try to sluff baldy off or the farthest back side of the radar dome

Not sure where you are coming from, but i plan on going up this weekend... Some snow forcasted today and tomorrow, but it should still make for a decent ride. I would ride south of bear, most people have said the best snow is there and i agree with where i rode last weekend.

And x2 on what wysteph and ryan said about the location of the northern bighorns... The north and south end is basically seperated by wilderness

Thank You!! we were going to stay at Bear, but they were all booked up. Got rooms at Arrowhead. Coming from ND. Will be riding Sat. and Sun.

Should we just drive up and unload at bear or is it fine just riding up?

Thanks again.

If your staying at arrowhead it depends where you want to ride. If you are going to go way down south you might as well drive, but other than that i would just ride.

Anyone been up this week?

Any new updates or pics??? Does anyone have a 10 day forecast for the horns available? My group will be out the 26th and just curious how the snow is.. Thanks guys for posting up on this thread!!!

well i went up today and chatted with some guys and they said about three feet and in spots it is really thin but the rocks are still sticking out so be carefull and there isnt snow in the forecast so i hope when it does it dumps like heck

a arms

They need another storm. I'm two for two on bent a arms. Z bros aren't all they are talked up to be

We are thinking bout ridin this coming thurs- sun, Hows the ridin out there now? Just two of us would be coming out if anyone wants to ride with us... Thanks

Going out this weekend to get some break in miles on. Where is the best place to stay and where is the best riding in the Horns right now.

Thanks

Was up saturday and from where we rode the snow is just getting old, its really dry almost like sugar. The tops of the hills still have rocks showing, heck even south of bear on the trail there is a spot where you can see the creek. We did find a few spots that had a maybe a couple feet of powder in them. Personally, its not worth making a trip up until it snows again. Didnt take any pics but i guess for a break in ride it would be alright. Lots of people on saturday everything is getting pretty tracked up. Best place to stay is bear lodge.

Was out there the last 3 days and found decent snow down by granite pass, they really need more snow, lots of sleds were there when we pulled out today so everything was getting really tracked up.

snowfall

Have heard rumors that the horns are looking at record snowfall already for this time of the year... I am just trying to compare since i dont live out there... I was out last year first week of january... planning on coming back the same time this year. Just wondering if im looking at better conditions than last year, or worse...

You will have snow in January for sure. How much depends on how december goes but so far has been great riding. We could use some more snow but if you know where to look you can have a great time now.

will post a few pics tommorow we found pretty good snow saturday. Spent more time looking for a christmas tree than riding but still able to find good snow
