What’d you think of trunp’s ideas to curb school shootings

Is mental health really the root??? Were most of these people born crazy or does it start at home? I lean towards the latter!!
Probably some of each....I don't really see the difference with regard to the end result, and needing more programs/support. If you are convinced that guns and access to are not the issue, then mental health kinda has to take all the blame....no?

Adoption of anything similar to Canada’s gun laws is not a realistic option in the USA. We both know that... it’s a pipe dream!!!
Huge project? Yes. Good solution? Also yes. Going to happen? Highly unlikely. Makes me glad to live where I do....that's not a dig on you guys, I just genuinely feel lucky that we seem to have a system that (so far) seems to be doing a better job at curtailing this issue. "Lucky" being the key word, as I had no say on where I was born and what the laws are :)

Did you not read what I wrote??? Doesn’t background checks fall under access? I said it needed work!!! “Highly unlikely” adopting anything close to what you have ? That’s an understatement!!!

That was my ???? Was that not a direct statement towards me? You said “you” and quoted me so I assumed!!! That’s awesome that you feel fortunate to have been born where you are! I feel exactly the same way. I’ve been a lot of other places and regardless of what goes on here there’s no place else I’d rather call home!!!

No offense to our friends to the north, but the reason we are so diligent regarding the 2nd ammendment is because we know a little something about taking control away from our government when needed.
We've been there, we've done that.

Sadly, I'll bet you whatever you want that your next school shooting happens before your next civil war.

What do you mean “kid”??? Did you really read the story? It was a 62 year old guy! Lol.. no he didn’t have an assault weapon and correct me if I’m wrong but no school shooter has!

Sorry about that I read it on my phone and must have scanned past that part that it explained the shooter was 62. and to a 90 year old he is a youngster at 62. just have to change your point of reference a little. honest mistake But my main point still stands

The name calling it a telltale sign of immaturity.
I hate to say that because I sometimes stoop to that level as well.
But yes, when jtk starts thread with his cute little namecalling, I automatically stop reading and move on to the next post.

It's as if he's saying "I can't think of anything worthwhile to add, but here's another nick name for our great President Trump"

Your great president is the king of cheesy nicknames, I guess he is really immature according to you.

I was more or less joking... hence the “lol”. I also still disagree with the main point!

Give an immediate viable solution for the USA to stop this violence. You bitch, bitch , bitch and try and come up with your cornball names for trump on a weekly basis and that’s about it! Trump won’t do this, trumps already failed... blah blah blah!!! Give the answers so we can all be as smart as you!!!

Um how many references to gun laws that work in other countries, as well as stating that until you guys find a way to allow access to mental health care have I written? Just because you don’t like an idea doesn’t mean someone isn’t putting en out there.

I honestly don’t know the answer in the states. Common sense gun laws that work in the rest of the world will never happen, I’d be amazed if a reasonable health care program is ever passed regardless of whoever is in power. I do feel that the peoples behaviour is the problem, and the culture of everyone wanting to be chuck Norris and considering it their right to carry a gun into Wendy’s isn’t helping.

But to preach that morality, ethics and personal responsibility are the answer and then support that fat orange guy is the height of hypocrisy. A kid without a dad (or with one for that matter) should be able to look up to a world leader as an example of how to act and treat others-I don’t care what “side” you are on, Donny is not exactly a shining example in that regard.

You want a solution? Be a good example and help our kids that need it, whether they are your own or not. Volunteer, be a coach, whatever, anything to get em off the screen and outside. And tell em not to act and treat others like Donny does.

You try and offer a viable solution in the first paragraph and then admit in the second that they’re not realistic in the USA. What was the point... you got another jab at trump in there. God job!!! I do volunteer and I do coach. We organize a few food drives a year for the less fortunate! What do you do??? While I’m sure some find “mango messiah” funny... I wonder if I had called Obama the “coal colored king” if it would be received the same way. I didn’t vote for Obama... I think he did a few good things but overall I disagreed with most of his policy. I did though have respect for him and the office of the president

If guns and access to them is causing this, how come this hasnt been an issue until the last 10-15 years?

spare the rod and spoil the child

1. proverb
if children are not physically punished when they do wrong, their personal development will suffer.

Maybe the old timers know something we don't.
I was talking to my sister-in-law who is a teacher and asked her if the helicopter parents are part of the problem. She said the new term is snowplow parents, they come in before the kids and clean out all of the problems before the kid show up.

Agreed^^^^^
My aunt is a teacher about to retire. She says 20 years ago the bad kids stood out, now days the good kids stand out. Terrible kids get in trouble and have their helicopter or as you say "snowplow" parents come stick up for them even if theyre in the wrong. Over diagnosed ADD, more and more on Rid Lin.
Back in the the day my mother would have beat me if i disrespected my teacher/elders. Nowdays the kids are just "expressing" themselves when the are sh!ts...
NO DISCIPLINE NOWDAYS, young new hires at my work are proof, sickening.

Okay, you asked. What do I think of trumps ideas to curb school shootings. Being that we have freedom of the press. Maybe we should show him and the world, video of the emergency rooms during the Sandy Hook, Columbine, Las Vegas, Parkland, Pulse Night Club slaughters.........just to name a few.
And then talk on camera to the nurses, doctors, police, first responders, etc and get their opinion.

And what outcome would you expect from this?
