Welcome to Valemount B.C ?!?

Get a dictionary, ask for help with the big words, re-read it slowly.... then maybe you'll understand , you putz.

Big words like "u" and "4M" the dictionary doesn't understand. I'd say it's more then likely your lack of ability to comprehend the english language. Maybe you should go back and start at grade 1 and see if you can get the hang of it this time around

I'm done with this thread, it is going nowhere....

Wow this tread is going all over the place, but back to the original topic. If you check the licence plates in the parking lots of the sledding areas around Valemont/ Mcbride/ Blue River, about 90% are from Alberta. If the towns want to encourage the continued tourism dollars coming from us, they should do all they can to welcome Albertans with open arms. I'm much older than 19 and I think a lot of guys become cops because they are on a power trip JMO!!!

exactly!

well just got back,,wew what an interesting couple days with the weather swing to the cold weather,,hope all made it home safe. Well I'm not going to read all the post but i would say that with the number of replies to this subject that it would be safe to say that many suffered the same as i this weekend dealling with valemont local mobile tax collector!!
I want to say i agree with inspecting vehicles and trailers and that its important we all have our selves in order before we hit the road,,but unfortunatly what i witnessed this weekend was pure harassment,,THis guy lectured people like they were beginner drivers, and handed out fines that in my mine were minor infractions and people should have been given the chance to rectify the problem rather than being slapped with a fine,,example,,if one should have a certain number of straps on your sled you should be given the oppurtunity to install one rather than just recieving a 175$ fine,,and from talking with alot of sledders in the area this weekend many suffered the same on friday morning.
To add to the injury while this was going on ,those who finnally made it to the drop off zone came back to there vehicles only to find that they were broken into,,,just great!! Great job valemont on protecting the people that help your livelyhood,,I would love to know the number of sledders that were in town contributing to the local economy,,because they wanted too,,not because they were forced too!!

I'd LOVE to be there when one of these theives get's caught!!!! Strip off all there clothes and get ducked taped to a pole with a sign that say's "THEIF" and left over night at -30!!!! No more stealing for them, I really hope it was worth it. Vigilanty justices isn't far away I can tell you that. No slap on the wrist if I catch them!!!! And yes I am pizzed off, All this stealing make my blood boil. We work our butts off to buy nice stuff and they just steal it and wreck your truck and windows which cost's more to fix. What a slap in the face. A one way trip into the forest for them and the bears will clean them up in the spring. The bears wouldn't even touch them either as they are no good STINKIN theives!!!

Wow! I got to reading this thread and was amused by the thought that you all sound like a bunch of hens in a hen house.

For the record: Cyle...Mr.HILCLMR went to school for a lot of years to attain success in his career and I can Guarantee you that if the economy of the lovely Municipality of Wood Buffalo (aka “Fort Crack”)popped like one of the pimples on your adolescent face, my family would be just fine.

Furthermore, Mr.HLCLMR does not and has never worked on an oil rig. (Not that there would be anything wrong with it if he did, the extraction of oil in our province creates thousands of jobs across the Country and puts food on the tables of many MANY homes ).
I believe my Grandmother was right Cyle when she said ‘children should be seen and not heard”. I don’t give a da*n how long you’ve been off the t!t...You’re a little wet behind the ears for this sort of talk.

As for you Mr.HLCLMR, YOU KNOW you’ve got the front end of that rig lit up so you can see the Moons of Jupiter when you flick all the switches - And every time you leave town you get pulled over. And every time you get pulled over you get pizzed off. And every time you get pizzed off you tell the cops exactly what you think of them. And every time you do that they give you an even bigger fine which you always say you are going to fight in court (but which you always just end up paying). Pay the fine and come home sweet-hart. The community obviously needs the money.

P.S. I’m a BC girl and your little town is beautiful - but we all know that if Revelstoke ever took a sh*t it would be Valemont. (no offence intended fellas)

BA HAA HAAH AAAHA BAAH AHHA HHA That is hillarious. I think the Warden has spoken.

If it takes $175.00 for you to put an extra tie down on your machine I say all the power to them.I suppose the innocent person that got killed from your unsafe load would agree.Every sledding magazine and all the web sites are all trying to get people to tie down properly. If a trucker were to do this unsafe load fines start at $650.00 so think yourself lucky. These so called cash grabs are hopefully teaching self centered people that we must conform or pay so the innocent are safe from the ignorant. If you break the law and get caught just pay your ticket and quit your whining. If you don't want to sled a certain area because you got caught for breaking the law go somewhere else but I am sure they are upholding the law through out the country.Probaly make it safer for the rest of us law abiding sledders if maybe you just gave it up. So grow up, put covers on your lights, strap down your sled properly and save your getting drunk for when back in your room. Whinning because you got caught makes you look a lot more immature than any 19 year old.Just my opinion.

Cheers,
Dave

Here's a picture of his lights in question. Don't ask me how I got them :p

I HAVE MONEY BUT DON'T WANT TO PAY THE FINES WHEN I BREAK THE LAW. lol....tool

If BC sucks....maybe you should do your sledding in AB or SK?

We've all had some tickets in our days, Lord knows I'm good for a couple speeding tickets a year....just pay it and get on with life. If you've got as much money as you like to tell us you do, what's another $100 added to your vacation expense?

Heh looks like you guys here just want to throw insults around and actually miss the point all together,,well i've said all want about this subject,,i got better things to discuss like actual sledding and smokindave,,,,,i think you should change your name to rehabdave,,might help you to see clearly,,bzzz, bzzz

I think the point is and you don't get is you got a ticket and want us to feel sorry for you.Guys like you that miss the point that everybody in this post has tryed to point out, are doing nothing but insulting your own intelligence. And as far as seeing clear I can see that you are an immature little punk that hopefully finds a new hobby as you and your type are doing our hobby no good. But that is just mine and most peoples opinion. Its because of ignorant people like you that they the police have to go out and ticket people at all.You probally drive with your off road lights on ,no straps on your sled with a bottle of beer between your legs and its no wonder they are out there stopping punks instead of patroling the lots to keep the thieves at bay.Wanna hear more just keep it up!!!

Cheers,
Dave

I got same light lights sort of and I pass cops everyday in my town,in Reddeer,Calgary,Edmonton all over Alberta how come none have gave me a ticket yet.Mabye cops like KC lights better. They came with a grill style cover not a full cover, nice way too start a fire have someone flip the switch on you lights with a full cover on them. And whats the proper way to strap a sled down is it in a manual somewhere?Does it apply for enclosed trailers as well as decks?Should Yamaha riders use chain and chain tighteners cause there machines are heavier?

Must be a canadian thing. I cant imagine thinking it is ok to get pulled over and have my rig and sled inspected for the sake of catching theives.

It would be like letting the cops come in your houses to look for stolen stuff with no reason given.

smokindave,,i'd tell you to grow up but i see your age and think thats probably not very kind thing to say,,but at 47 i doubt your still "smokin"

And as we can all see you are insulting your own intelligence again.I guess the six years difference in age makes you what? When 90% of people say that you should just suck it up and pay your ticket and learn your lesson you turn all nasty. This is why the police are there looking for guys just like you. I guess you can probally blame your parents for not teaching you the difference between right and wrong and we the public can only hope you have not spawned any children yourself as you are a little immature for that responsibility.
I can also see by your reputation you have had problems with others on this forum but being self centered that won't bother you. Good luck bud it sounds like tickets and more whinning are in your future so now I ignore you!! And as far as still Smokin me with spinal cord damage could still kick your azz Punk

Have A Nice Day,
Dave

Dave I don't think you understand what most of the people on here are saying. That is that cops need to spend less time giving trumped up B.S tickets and more time investigating serious and violent crimes. Many small time tickets are given at the end of the month because cops have to meet a quota. Thats right, they are required to give a minimum number of tickets. Sound like a money grab or public safety??

If people tied down there machines properly and stopped dropping there sleds or even trailers on the hiway they wouldn't have to do these check stops. I drive truck for a living and put up with DOT check stops all the time. Sometimes I get a ticket for a burned out marker light I don't get on forum and whine about it I just pay it and hope that if there are dangerous trucks out there that they get caught. I can see that the uncovered light is BS but I bet there was attitude given to that cop before they gave that ticket. As far as unsafe loads that is a serious matter that involves other innocent lives. When you critisize someone for the mistake they have made they should takle the info and learn not get nasty. It is not this way with this guy he will not take responsibility for his actions. If every one did as they were supposed to they would not be there in the first place. Does somebody you know or family member have to get hurt before this is an issue.NO WAY

Cheers,
Dave
