LOL i ran out of BEER reading this .To funny.All this safty stuff is making me think i should look over my trailer and not just look to see if there is air in the tires.ohh i should probley get a plate on it.lol :beer;

Dave you assumed Hillclimr broke the law, you got all over the other guy saying that he thought hold down straps would be useless in an accident. Then you told us how all the cops were only doing thier jobs when they hassle us and write tickets for insignificant items at roadside checks. Then we were informed that collecting revenue buy writing these tickets for minor infractions, was the police forces job, while our trucks are being broken into. Anyone who dissagreed with you was called immature and told to grow up. You missed the whole point of the thread so that you could stand on your soap box and preach. I'm all for the cops getting dangerous drivers off of the road, but the stories told here are not about that. What I have read on this thread (besides your moralizing) is about police abusing thier power, and to say it never happens is DUMB!!!! You changed your tune when you agreed that the guy with the rusty chains was getting hassled. I'm done disscusing this with you Dave, try to lighten up man.

Whatever and ditto

Mr hilcmlr thx for the negative reputation for posting the picture of the lights in question and then deleting the picture (not that it did anything I could post it again right now), and not man enough to leave your name in the comment, or return to the thread after pretty much everyone agreed you deserved your ticket? PS replying to the thread under "your wifes" account is pretty cowardly, you failed computer class didn't you? :D

yeah, I was there 5 days ago, they made me change my trailer chains. I had rust on my old ones. Well guess what, I just drove 8 hours on salt and watery roads, what do you think would happen? I had to go spend 30 bucks at bumper to bumper to get rid of 'rust'

Bull**** if you ask me.

yup thats the guy that stopped us fer sure,,i think he is part owner of bumper to bumper,,he was suggesting that everyone go there for every bs thing he could come up with,,we had garbage bags over our foglghts but guess that was'nt good enough,,he wanted us to go purchase covers,,f-that,,i would take them off before buying there!!but he didnt suggest anything like that,,they got people with tint on windows, tie downs,,not tight to his satisfaction,,,you guys all see what i'm trying to get across,,its harassment,,minor infractions,,,maybe they should do this in the unloading areas so they can watch our vehicles while we are up the mountain at the same time,,ya wouldnt mind paying a little fine once and a while if ya actually got some protection from it,,just asked the guys who rode at mileage that day,,who didnt have a very pleasant return to there vehicles,,guess the thieves new there would'nt be any law around,,they were busy doing the community some real good-----not!!!

Sorry that your kids Christmas will be spoiled. At least you will still have a sled for them to ride if you buy the second strap LOL

I cant find a serial number on the dumb trailer other wise i would have a plate. 15 years with no plate on it .But i probley should do something about it

Ok, For all those who are wondering about the original topic...

It was the OP's conviction of the super brights....

I dunno about you, but to get busted for rusty chains.....

They must have been DUE FOR REPLACEMENT>

I have seen some nasty chains, that do need replacing, it could have been the safety snaps, or even just half rusted through too..... WHO KNOWS

If I was unfairly handed a ticket, I would plan a sledding trip on those days to fight it.

Gawd peeps, LOL

And DaveB...

Just because you were born in the 60's doesn't mean you can remember it...;)

Hi there Darrel,
The easy solution for registering your trailer is to say it is home built and make up your own serial number.Use your phone number or sin number. I have done this in the past and is acceptable with motor vehicle department.

Cheers,
Dave
