Welcome to Valemount B.C ?!?

Just curious, what do you operate??

This thread went a little sideways, from a 90 dollar infraction to who makes the most dough 'right now'

A small natural gas field of about 30 wells, and a small processing plant. We have 1 wauk 5774 pushing a 3 stage ariel. Refridge/dehy... basic small plant.

Now what do yoouuu operate???????

Vale

I have been sledding in Valemount since 2000. I really don't think your voice changed since then, being 19. Does your opinion count? not really. Your "experience is negated by your age" There are much more qualified individuals who can comment on economics than yourself. However it is an open Forum and fill your boots. My original intent was to get people to talk about the mis-guided operations of smaller communities. I will not however lower myself to your level of IQ as surely you will beat me with experience every time. I will however continue to Vote with my MONEY-VOICE-RIGHTS to make sure that my tax dollars are at work for MY benefits ! When I was getting pulled over by the rcmp/dot there were trucks being broken into in Mileage parking lot! these guys who went riding for the day came back to find all of their gear gone, and windows smashed. So I ask you Cyle if that was your rig would you still stand up for the rcmp? Handing out tickets on the Highway when thieves are hard at work destroying your belongings only KM's away? Well Cyle ?

Wow! I got to reading this thread and was amused by the thought that you all sound like a bunch of hens in a hen house.

For the record: Cyle...Mr.HILCLMR went to school for a lot of years to attain success in his career and I can Guarantee you that if the economy of the lovely Municipality of Wood Buffalo (aka “Fort Crack”)popped like one of the pimples on your adolescent face, my family would be just fine.

Furthermore, Mr.HLCLMR does not and has never worked on an oil rig. (Not that there would be anything wrong with it if he did, the extraction of oil in our province creates thousands of jobs across the Country and puts food on the tables of many MANY homes ).
I believe my Grandmother was right Cyle when she said ‘children should be seen and not heard”. I don’t give a da*n how long you’ve been off the t!t...You’re a little wet behind the ears for this sort of talk.

As for you Mr.HLCLMR, YOU KNOW you’ve got the front end of that rig lit up so you can see the Moons of Jupiter when you flick all the switches - And every time you leave town you get pulled over. And every time you get pulled over you get pizzed off. And every time you get pizzed off you tell the cops exactly what you think of them. And every time you do that they give you an even bigger fine which you always say you are going to fight in court (but which you always just end up paying). Pay the fine and come home sweet-hart. The community obviously needs the money.

P.S. I’m a BC girl and your little town is beautiful - but we all know that if Revelstoke ever took a sh*t it would be Valemont. (no offence intended fellas)

now we know who wears the pants in that house LOL ...yup thread dead fer sure ..fun as it was ...can we go riding now??????

Great read.Im still laughing, Cyle doesnt have a clue about rig workers or where the fuel for his truck comes from.I havnt been to many drilling rigs up in Fort Mac I can tell you that, please tell me more Cyle about those big bonuses rig workers get.You wouldnt last ten minutes out there you would be crying home to mama.I think there is a few invert soaked roughnecks this -30 below morning that figure there pay isnt nearly enough and it isnt, that might have a few words for you....No rig workers,no oilsands workers I guess the only sledding Cyle will be doing is sliding down the hill in his backyard on a piece of cardboard since there wont be any fuel.

HOLY SH!T! This has got to be a first! The misses has spoken:face-icon-small-ton LMFAO!!
But seriously, Ft. McMurray has been a life saver for me when time are slow down here. I work in the oilfeilds around Swan Hills as a tradesman. I don't get handed a bag of money when I roll out of bed.
As for you Cyle, being 19 I'd have a lot more respect for people that work in the oilpatch. I'll make you a deal. I live about a 1/2 hour North of Edmonton. The next time I get a call at 1:30 in the morning from Mr.Operator telling me his plant is in emergency shutdown and risks losing everything becuse the temp is -42. I just got back home 5 hours ago. That way you can see just how easy my family and I have it. Your ignorant attitude toward people and what we do for a living is a Goddamned insult to every member of snowest and if anythig makes YOU look like the cocky little jackass. GROW UP.

Ah people getting defensive only proves my point further. A little birdie told me that mrs.hlclmr and hlclmr and one in the same  But good try! Were did I say I have no respect for any rigs workers or anyone who works in fort mac? Anything who thinks that needs to reread what I said because they missed the point. I have no respect for people who work up north and think that because they make big money they are hot **** and deserve everyone to bow to them, but if your getting defensive maybe that says more about you then me. Age doesn't bring wisdom, but ignorance is one that strikes at any age and many have found it here. That is a first i've heard of fort mac being "beautiful" and not just a hole in the ground  Using age as a defence mechanism is truely great, it shows that you are threatened and lack the knowledge to prove someone wrong. To many up north need a attitude adjustment, some are just fine but they are few a far between. If things slow down, we'll see how many of them loose everything, almost everyone I know up north is one paycheck away from the repoman visiting them and taking everything, and don't tell me for one second that MANY others aren't the EXACT same.

Name one industry in Alberta that wont be affected if the oilpatch goes to hell.If you work at Mcdonalds you will loose your job too.

A huge majority of businesses would SLOW down, while most people up north would have almost no chance of a job. There is many jobs that are absolutly vital and can't be laid of. People like cops, fire, EMS, city workers, gas, and power etc might loose some but anyone who's been there for a while would still have a job. And being one paycheck from the repoman shouldn't happen to anyone, part of my point was to many cannot manage money, and the big money many are making up north makes it even worse.

And where do you think the tax dollars that fund these essential services come from. Those type of jobs wages would be cut and you would have to work for free.Pretty hard for a firefighter to get to a fire with no diesel in his truck. If you think you are safe cause you cut grass for the city you are wrong.

Wow this tread is going all over the place, but back to the original topic. If you check the licence plates in the parking lots of the sledding areas around Valemont/ Mcbride/ Blue River, about 90% are from Alberta. If the towns want to encourage the continued tourism dollars coming from us, they should do all they can to welcome Albertans with open arms. I'm much older than 19 and I think a lot of guys become cops because they are on a power trip JMO!!!

After reading this thread, I have gained a new disrespect for upstarts like you cycle. Your comment that age doesn't bring wisdom is too bad, cause thats gonna suck for you. A lot of these guys have been easy on u, I don't think u deserve it.
I think you're a self-absorbed ***-wipe who after learning how to wipe his snotty attitude away, hopefully will figure out that you're not the shining star you think you are, and beaking off on a 4M that is chock full of guys who could buy all your piddly assests and throw them away, just to piss you off, proves that.
Grow up, or at least shut-up till you do.

Come back when you learn some basic spelling and grammar, until then it is impossible to take you seriously, or have the slighest clue what you are trying to say.
