The snowpack is mostly stable, however some potential persists for humans to trigger slab avalanches up to five feet in depth on very steep slopes and in cliff areas. Larger triggers such as multiple highmarking snowmachines on the same slope may be necessary to initiate failure of these deep dangerous slabs.

Are the temperatures they are posting in that report fairly accurate?
Coming out to the area next week and have been reading the forecast on NWS and its talking about mid 30s up top...
I remember them a few agos i think saying the same thing, but the avy report never listed temps above about mid20s...
We hit mid30s last yr when we were out in early march, and while it was great to ride in, it setup the snow and ddint leave much powder....

The temperatures are fairly accurate. The other issue is the weather. Mid to high 20s with cloud cover vs Mid to high 20s with sun. Also, night time temperatures play a part. Last year we did see a warmer than normal March. Time will tell what March brings us this year.

The General Avalanche Hazard remains MODERATE. Beneath shallow, new soft slabs the snowpack is mostly stable; however some potential persists for backcountry travelers to trigger slab avalanches up to five feet in depth on very steep slopes and in cliff areas. Larger triggers, such as multiple high marking snowmachines on the same slope, may be necessary to initiate failure of these deep, dangerous slabs. Sunshine and warming temperatures through the day will make these slabs more susceptible to failure, along with the chance of sunballs, pinwheels, and loose sluffs.
