...MUCH COLDER AIR HEADED FOR WYOMING BY SUNDAY...
AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL SLIDE SOUTH THROUGH THE STATE BEGINNING IN THE FAR NORTH SATURDAY EVENING. THE COLD FRONT WILL CONTINUE TO
PLOW SOUTH THROUGH THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE BY SUNRISE SUNDAY. THIS WILL BRING COLD TEMPERATURES TO THE ENTIRE STATE...WITH THE COLDEST READINGS EXPECTED EAST OF THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE.
IN ADDITION...A FAVORABLE FLOW PATTERN IS LIKELY TO BRING A
PROLONGED PERIOD OF SNOWFALL TO AREAS WEST OF THE CONTINENTAL
DIVIDE. THERE IS A CHANCE OF SNOW FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE AREA
BEGINNING SATURDAY WITH THE BEST CHANCE OCCURRING LATE SATURDAY
NIGHT AND SUNDAY BEHIND THE PASSAGE OF THE COLD FRONT.
THE MILD...ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES EXPERIENCED RECENTLY WILL BE A THING OF THE PAST BY SUNDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE SINGLE DIGITS ABOVE ZERO WILL BE QUITE COMMON SUNDAY AND MONDAY. LOW TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE SINGLE DIGITS BELOW ZERO. THERE DOES APPEAR TO BE A SLIGHT MODERATION TO THIS ARCTIC AIRMASS BY MIDWEEK WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES WARMING BACK INTO THE TEENS AND 20S. SOME OF THE COLD AIR LOOKS TO RETREAT TO THE NORTH AND EAST BY THAT TIME. HOWEVER...
THE AMOUNT AND SPEED OF THIS TEMPERATURE REBOUND WILL ALSO BE
DEPENDENT UPON HOW MUCH SNOW FALLS AND COVERS THE GROUND BY LATE THIS WEEKEND.
