Turbokit VS big bore 85x kit on PRO?

damnit brad, you are killing me... i really want one... wonder if i can slip the into the new house loan without the wife noticing??? hmmmmmm......

so assuming your testing goes well and have kits on the snow next year, i am now anxiously awaiting the carl's 900 vs PAR 910 throw down!

do you expect any issues/difficulties getting it dialed in on the 13 with the changes? i'm guessing not since they are completely different cylinders. only issue should be a slight tweek to the mapping on the pcV?

Ya know....back in the day we used to figure a $100 a pound for weight loss.

Do you guys realize you are taking about $9,000 plus or minus for about 40ish pounds. Holy crap.

But I do hear us....420lbs WET and ready to ride is psychotic...and so cooooool.

Definitely going to follow this topic.I have brads head on my 11 pro and love it. But just like everyone else is looking for more power and reliabilty. Thanks for all the info.

Scott you can do 40-50 lbs for a lot less than $9000 and about $2000 of that is shocks and I think shocks are a must for the Pro just for the increase in rider comfort and handling.

Mesh hood headlight delete: 11lbs $400
Ti front arms: 6lbs. $600
Ti rear arms: 7lbs. $800
Fox shocks or ti springs: 8lbs. $2000
Ti bolts: 5lbs. $500
Foam: 2lbs. $0
Can: 5lbs. $250
Total : 44lbs. $4550
I'm going to the carbon gas tank for 15lbs and $1500 so it looks like about 60lbs for $6000. I should be right around 450-460 lbs ready to ride full of gas and oil.

that would be a fun sled to ride :face-icon-small-hap
hey Matt where you finding front arms for $600 and rear for $800?
thanks

I'm a little light there I guess. Front looks like just under $800. Rears I estimated and it will probably be in the $12-1500 range. So the total is closer to $7000. I'm an optimist, lol

FYI, I have a few rides under my belt on RKTek's 858 kit... I'm in love... Sure the RAW power can't and doesn't compare to a turbo but the EASE of riding, the fact that I haven't popped the hood ONCE since I've had it and I can let ANYONE hop on it on the hill and not stress that they won't be looking at the gauges! Means a lot, the sled is pull can go, gives me that little extra grunt without turning it into a total chute climbing sled that is much harder to ride in the trees. Let a few people hop on her last weekend and they all said the power felt great, marked improvement over stock.

For me it's given my fun factor BACK to me but that's cause the style of riding I like to do is trees!!

just thought I would chime in after I had some time on this machine!!

hard to say, I wouldn't mind getting it on the hill with a rev 860...

but I'm pretty sure, although the power of my pro as a stock machine didn't SEEM like much, it always seemed to get to the top ya know?? now I feel like I have even more than that (well, I don't just feel like I have more, I've put it on the hill against a few stockers and it does have much more pulling power!!) the Pro works... maybe low on HP but the chassis works!!

Add a little more HP to it and it just works that much better. The thing that impresses me the MOST is that you do't sacrifice what makes the Pro such a fun sled to ride by doing a big bore. it's still the same, light weight sled, responsive, fun to ride but just with a little more pulling power!!

Skadi, just curious..when compared to stock pros on the same hill does it dust them or just barely pull away? reason i ask is I had a comment from a guy who did get to swing a leg over a 858 and he said it wasnt that good..pulled a little harder then his good running stocker..but nothing like his buddies 860 doo(xp) I have heard carls 900 does pull extremely hard from reliable sources who have ridden it compareing it to running right with a pump gas pro on the hill..did you feel the 858 would run with your turbo pro?thanks...

it would not run with my turbo pro....

but, my turbo pro didn't run half the time and it actually (for me) wasn't very fun to ride at all!

So I dunno what to tell you, no it doesn't have the raw pulling power that my turbo had, but I've seen some turbo doo's run and I haven't seen a, 860 doo hang with a turbo doo either... maybe at really low boost levels??

but the reason I wanted an 858 was cause I didn't like the turbo so I'm GLAD it doesn't run like my turbo did!

nope, I have whatever box was on it when I bought it, it's a boondocker box. I have the vi-pec up for sale to attempt to recover from taking the hit with that build (will have the turbo up for sale once I get it back from being rebuilt as well).

Would love to fuel it with vi-pec but can't afford it.... sled runs great as it is, don't need to push more HP out of it and need money from vi-pec to pay 858 off!!

Emilie, Might be fun too have if and when something ever comes along that i might want too put it on. Lol

What $$ did you say you were selling it for?
