Turbokit VS big bore 85x kit on PRO?

Rune,
Yes it is power addiction.

Have been sleepless last couple of nights about this. Keep the old 11 and upgrade the engine and some other things. Or put the money on an 13 and have less money left for any major engine mod. We in scandinavia run more or less at sea level. I'm not a highmarker but it would be nice to have some more juice sometimes without sacrificing the fuel consumption too much. What to do?

OOOOOOHHHH!! Now your teasing....

Could we get any official info on this kit from Brad???

Kul at hälsa på, vars bor du nån stans? Har ni nån snö kvar? Här får man skotta lite gräs och sten om man vil åka..

make sure everyone is comparing apples to apples when looking at carl's and PAR

carl's 900 kit is 4500ish but by the time you do all the, pretty much necessary extras (pipe, reeds, airbox, etc.) the price goes up to the 6000 range.

is PAR's 910 kit the same story? or is it $6k plus the extra necessities? how is PAR's long rod kit going to effect things??

i don't know and is why i ask. both make extremely nice products and have excellent reputations. right now i would say (my guess) the advantage probably has to go to carl's simply and only b/c they have an entire season plus of on snow testing. it will be really interesting to see how PAR's kit comes out. of course now with the 13 pro having slightly different cylinders and more refined mapping how will that effect the delivery time of all the big bore kits??

I am going to spend the same money going light weight. The Pro at 460-475 ready to ride should be awesome. Well it is awesome stock so let's say mo awesome! Leave the drivetrain stone stock. I am a pretty big guy and not a great rider so the the smaller better riders really leave me with something to shoot for.

Matt, with C-3 working on a carbon chassis and other parts it is very tempting to leave the motor and go after the weight, but I think adding the right big bore kit maybe worth it for peace of mind as well as reliability reasons.... would be nice to see more technical/cost/performance/reliablity/warranty info on all the different stuff out there...

I was wondering about that too. A carbon tank and chassis would be closer to 80-90lbs off but also over $10,000 total. You would be married to that sled for a while to get any kind of return/use of your money. I could live with little upgrades but if Poo came out with a new chassis I would trade up and then that $10,000 would disappear in a cloud of smoke...

word is about 3500 for the chassis...the tank and plastic seems to be the big $ items..chassis should drop around 20-30 pds, and as long as it didnt ruin the handling from what it is stock..might be a good investment.....

adding titanium skid, a-arms, air shocks, and all titanium bolts would add what about 5 grand to the cost and drop another 20-25 pds? at what point is it realistic to look at buying a new pro, pull the complete stock motor, set it on a shelf and install brads billet motor? then when ready to sell swap the stocker in sell and keep the billet motor for the next sled..this while more up frt..would be the best return on the investment to me....

This is what I got from Brad:
The rumor is true . We are building a 910 cc motor hp should be about 180
hp and 120 tq in that range. This motor will use a all new billet longer
con rod and my cylinders and head . Price is about 5800.00 for the
complete kit.

Rune,
I live in Jokkmokk. We are going to Ritsem next weekend. There might be a place over for you if you need a place to sleep. Right now we have pretty much snow up in the mountains.
Got this link from a friend and look at when it's uploaded. And he thinks it is true. It have been snowing a couple of nights now.

Jokkmokk, yes, backyard of Tikka Racing!

Not much mountains tho.. Would be a blast to hit the pow @ Riksgränsen with you, but no luck next weekend. Lady going to London to spend my money, leaves me with kid and dog...

Mesh hood(wish the did a carbon fiber with vents) head light delete from Diamond S is 11lbs and only $500. I think a lot has to do with where you ride. In the open areas with deep snow power is what you want. In the trees you want light and maybe power but I think light helps everything. Stopping, starting, turning and climbing(not to mention digging) is all easier with less weight. Pick up 50lbs some time and imagine carrying that all day on your sled. No pick up 90lbs(use your legs) and think of leaving that in the trailer all day.

Cast cylinders without ex valves?sounds good with so much power+reliability.CPI single pipe?

All this is true I will have the info up on the site within a week. The motor is complete and in testing stages at this time. Our motor uses 2 new cast cylinders Not Stock cylinders (with or without p valves ) two pistions, billet head you choose the compression ratio for your like, and the best thing is our longer billet con rods. This is motor will be the best of both worlds. Powerful and dependable with the less rod angle to get rid of the issues involved with the stock motor. Yes we will be offering with a cpi pipe. I am in the testing stage of pipes at this time and currently I am working with the slp single and a custom cpi pipe both will work great.

Power should be 170- 180hp and 120 tq. I will have all that info on the motor in two weeks when I get done with the dyno testing differant pipe combos. Price point is going to be about 5800.00 You will need to supply me a case and a crank. If your crank is no good we have replacement parts to fix everything . Our fully billet rods come with new 29mm pins and I will have a rebuildable inner wheels available. This comes with all labor (crank ) gaskets ,hardware , porting ,and all machine work to case. So basicly if you have blown your motor up all you need is a new case and you are in bussiness slap your ignition on and go. My main focus is to cater to the people who already have a slp pipe and a pc5 so this will work with that setup. I will also have dobec boxes programed for the people who what that controller.

thanks brad, does it include clutching or just recommendations, and what fuel ? sounds like a sweet setup for sure..

I will always have clutching for our products. I can setup what ever fuel you want just like all of our kits. Pump gas is what everyone really wants.

I have yet to ride a BB, I've only ridden a turbo, and would really like to see how a BB compares...I love the power that the turbo produces, but I could really live without the lag that comes with a turbo...
