SERVICE BULLETIN: Embedded Map GPS Download & Update Procedure for 10.25" Display

I would recommend to update the firmware also, this can only be done by the dealer trough buds.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the update; it will not download properly without keeping the gauges powered up. You need to use the dongle, jumper the pins or take it to the dealer.
Buy the Dongle and a BATTERY TENDER.
Together those two should solve the problem long term.

This is complete NONSENSE.

I updated the firmware or I wouldn't have been able to even download the maps ( that didn't exist before updating the firmware )

its well documented on videos and on brp's instructions you can update it over wifi lol.

Firmware and software are 2 different things.

Software you can update by yourself. Firmware update can be only by the dealer.

Last spring I wasnt able to update my software, so I took both sleds to the dealer and they had Firmware update available which solved the software update issue.

If you want to learn more about the difference of these two, watch this

I was able to update one sled over WiFi, the other still has issues. It says 3.0.1. I install the new update, it goes through the installation. When it hits 100% done, it does a self restart, but then just stays black. I then turn it on again, and have to start over.

Yes, probably needs to go to the dealer.

On a side note. Took the working screen out for a ride. The gps and maps worked really well without the phone. When you slide to the gauge then back to the maps, it does take a few seconds for it to refresh again.

Off to the dealer to get one of those Dongles and a pair of fresh batteries
Neither of them seems to be holding a STRONG charge any longer.

I keep forgetting to pickup the dongle I ordered from the dealer weeks ago. Mine is all installed with maps installed. just tells me i need to update still even though it says im on that version no anyway. I don't know that I care enough to mess with it more it seems to work.

Yea I know the diff. Didn't know there was some thing only dealers can do.. that's annoying.

Fyi, when that update disappears, you will have to redownload the maps.

Well, this is a challenge.
Got the dongle.
Plugged in the AC Trickle charger.
Selected 4 maps
And the poor thing just can't get enough power to remain on.

Sled is down charging the battery again, trying to bring it up to 100% before I try the maps again.

Picked up a Lithium Battery for my primary sled and will charge her just as soon as the backup is done.

Even with a good battery, a trickle charger is not enough, need to have a 2a charger on it or run the sled.

I clipped on my car battery charger.
Set it to 10 Amps, and it still had trouble keeping up.
The headlight would FLICKER.
But I could watch the charger and the output load was always dropping.
Refused to maintain a steady 14volts output for reasons unknown.

So I shut it down and set it to charge the battery to 100% before the next attempt

WHAT A HUGE PAIN IN THE BUTT this has been.
With a new battery, charger and the dongle I have been able to install 3 of the 5 updates my sled needed.
But it just hangs over and over and over again on the last two maps.

Ran that update for 6 hours last night, got to 90% and then just stopped dead.
MULTIPLE TIMES.

Trying to install the last 2 maps this morning, but it looks hung already.
