SERVICE BULLETIN: Embedded Map GPS Download & Update Procedure for 10.25" Display

I wonder how many maps are able to be loaded in The gauge? Or how much memory is there?
I was wondering that looking at all of the maps when downloading my two maps.

The dongle is to KEEP THE POWER on and not let the system go back to sleep.
Yes thats correct, but if every map was able to be loaded into the gauge, the dongle would only be needed once.
Not saying I am right, but with the limited info on what this gauge is really capable of, I suspect doo is wanting limited maps to be loaded at one time, just a thought maybe thats why your other maps wont load?

I think you and I are talking about two different things.
You're talking about the GPS MODULE that permanently plugs into the underside of the display console.

And I am talking about the tiny power port clip on dongle that forces the electronics system to stay turned on for software updates.

No I am referring to the dongle that keeps the gauge awake. You are the first person I have heard of that has had a issue with downloading a map. It was just a thought that possibly there is a limit on how many maps can be downloaded. Its just a hunch with nothing to back it up.
Maps require memory to be stored, I personally do not believe doo designed the internal GPS to have 20 maps downloaded, an exaggerated example mind you.
The Dongle to keep the gauge awake is something that makes a potential constant addition and removal of the maps easier for someone at home.
This was something I thought of when I downloaded my map and found out there was a dongle afterwards.
It seemed to me The map downloads take more time than a software update therefore the dongle makes sense.
Just conversation, I could be totally wrong.

It is taking HOURS per map to download.
I have excellent signal strength, and one sled IS loading them, albeit crazy slow
The other just crashes each time and freezes.

This is SOOO odd.

With the price of this gauge having to download maps is bs especially when your local dealer gives you the deer in the headlights look. How can brp be leading edge but behind the industry on this? Imo a good dealer would take take care of this and do the maps at shop rate not just send you out the door. No service anywhere anymore. I don’t have time to f around and spend hours on downloading some maps. That’s why I buy a new sled to go ride when I have time.

Honestly, this isn't my dealer's fault at all.
They did exactly what I asked them do.
Could they have just gone ahead and installed all the local state maps without having been asked to?
Sure I suppose so.
But that wasn't on my work order I gave them, and they might have thought the rest of the updates were a piece of cake.

Looks like there are bugs ti work out still. I didn’t have a issue with downloading maps in my area but I just did the BC and Alberta maps.

Caper, let me know how the maps work in BC/AB. I ride mostly northern B.C. /AB and figuring out it this upgrade would be worth it. (Either here or on the “other” site lol)

I downloaded six states riding areas. The issue now i have is trying to get to see them. When they come up say Oregon for instance, there are so many riding areas listed I can’t find the one I want easily,Obviously I don’t have the mental capability to use this correctly, even though I was smart enough after a period of time to get them loaded.I agree this is very complicated.Polaris hasn’t had any recalls on their guage

Well, Polaris did have to replace the 5-way controller switch on their gauge because it kept popping off:
