Pro vs Etec (part 2)

I owned an 010 XP and currently own a new 011 Pro 163. I've ridden the new 011 Etec and didn't care for it's handling, with its more narrow ski stance. Coming down a steep pull it feels darty and a bit tippy to me. The Etec has great power, I'd say slightly more noticable over the Pro, but I feel the Pro gets up on the snow a bit better and gets its power to the ground better. I like the steering better on the Etec, the Pro steering seems similar to articat as far as it won't turn as sharp as the Doo. Not a big deal though, in the tree's I feel the over all handling of the Pro, suits my riding style better than the etec, due to the fact of how it gets up on top of the snow and how good the over all chassis feels for my style of riding. Both are damn good sleds and I wouldn't kick either one of them out of bed for eating crackers, but I personally feel the Pro is a better overall sled. I'm not brand loyal whats so ever. I've owned an 09 M-1000, 010 XP, and now a 011 Pro the last three years. The really great thing is, the big four are all putting out quality machines, which is a great thing for the consumer.:face-icon-small-hap

so your saying because the belt was so hot that it was a clutching issue, and this was the culprit because of the primary, i think if you run over to the doo fourm it has been proven over and over that lack of cooling is the culprit rather than any other

if your not smart enought to put no air vents in, remove foam, cut some plastic, then this will be your outcome, and this goes for your pros as well(common sense item)
ask any dealer

nothing wrong with your clutching but your clutches get smokeing hot? i mean iam no genius but smoking hot clutches is from lack of clutching or alignment. Putting a buttload of vents is just a bandaid, clutch till they run as cool as you can get them, then throw some vents on

How about just cleaning all the slimy oily goo off of the clutches? I'm still running my original belt on my XP.... no magic, just a Roosterbilt clutch kit and I keep things meticulously clean. And it is amazing how many belt burners I have "fixed" with some proper prep, cleaning and set up.

But :focus: now.....

and a new curve ball: for those of you that have ridden both..... what are your feelings on tracks? The 16" wide Doo (non ported now) vs. the Poo 15" wide track?

My thoughts are this. Both stock tracks work well on the Etech and the Pro. But the track I personally feel works the best in deep powder is the Powerclaw. I ended up switching mine out for the powerclaw. Only down fall is for the Pro, it's an additonal couple hundred cause you hav't too switch out the drivers as well. I don't regret spending the money though, it's a noticeable difference.

you polaris guys are too smart for me, first year sled that works somewhat and you know everthing allready, hope to see some of you on the hill, and put some vid up for you to exsplain why it never out performed the doo

Who cares about the Doo? It's apparent just how smart you are. You think these guys need to have the Pro to have sled knowledge. Some have worked through 900/755 issues, 800 crank issues and others. There is a good group of smart guys with good input - You're just not one of them. Take your other name, CRFfred... and go to DooTalk.

Funny...FredW just gave me 12 bad reps!

Find a knife and walk into it.

31 posts and accusing 4M members that have been around for a couple years of having alters.....hmmmm. Take your own advice and find a knife...nevermind. Really not a family orientated site. Mom's, Dad's best advice keep your kids off of the net.

All over a brand of machine. Sad...

Are you reading this stuff Moderators.

Boys...play nice! There is NO reason to go and hit every post of someone because you disagree with what they say in another post, or because you don't like that person.

People can disagree...and we ALL will always do that about something. There is NO reason to NOT be able to have an adult conversation without the name calling/bashing.

almost to 75 posts:crazy: will we see another thread about keyboard highmarking with the same title for the unpaid members to stroke it out? or will the moderators who do very little but take advantage of whole sale items from vendors head them off with their stellar keyboarding experiance? only time will tell. maybe we can get some inteligent insight from snowmobiliers Grandma on the subject,,,, she does help many keyboarders with their keymarking skillz:pop2::pop2::pop2::pop2::pop2::pop2:

Do you people really pay attention to the good and bad ratings anyways? Do you look at the ratings of the poster and respond to their post if they have good ratings and not respond if they have bad ratings? Why do you people get so bent out of shape if someone gives you a bad rating...it's the frickin internet!!!

Although quite funny to see people duke it out on the internet, it is a bit childish at this point...how old are you people anyways?

Nope, no moderators here at all..... :face-icon-small-blu If anything was out of line you can bet on it that it would have been handled promptly. If every reply with childish content was removed there wouldn't be much left of this thread, and I would be getting piles of hate mail on top of it. And hey, it's not even my section! I'm just in here like many others of you: looking to hopefully pick up some good info amidst all this banter. But I gotta say the keyboard highmarking was pretty funny! :beer;

ski-doo guys c'mon lets be nice us polaris guys finally have something almost worth bragging about chassis bada$$:cheer2: lets just see how the engine does so far so good but another thing lets not forget about the d8's that polaris is trying to forget about, most of you guys are ok with with it but i sure havnt forgot and hell i didnt even own one:rain:
