looking for christian snowmobilers

Not sure what the big deal is here...the guy wants to find riding buddies with similar interests. If religion is big in his life, he'll want to ride with other guys who have the same faith. Just like beer is big in my life...I like to ride with guys that will have a beer at the end of the day (kidding, kinda). Any rate...if you don't want to ride with the guy, big deal...don't. If he wants to try to "spread the word", so be it...it's a free country. For me, I don't want to hear about it so I won't ride with him...but I won't rip him for looking for others that share the interest. At the end of the day we are all sledders who will do anything to help each other up there if something goes wrong...sometimes I don't get the divisiveness I see on here. Primary subjects to get guys PO'd on here are alcohol and religion. To each his own I say.

totally agree. we have become a divided country in many ways. just look at politics for example. it seems it takes a tragedy to make us all forget the differences. i personally am a believer and dont care who i ride with. it is very easy to see the differences in people and miss the VALUE of a soul!

It's amazing that a guy mentions that he's a Christian and some people think every time you see him he will hit you upside the head with a bible. We are not like Ned Flanders on the Simpson.

I have a group of guys I ride with and probably over half of us are Christians and I would like to find a group that has more fun than us on the mountain. We don't stop at the top of a climb and site scripture. We don't try to convert the "non-christians" in our group at the warming hut. We ride and have fun. So some of you need to RELAX, we are not coming to get you.

I agree. I ride with a mix of guys and you can ask any of them and they will tell you that I don’t force or preach to them when we ride. But as my Snowest name implies I do more than just “Prayn4snow”. I am also not ashamed to say that I am far from perfect, and thank God for forgiveness!

I would love to tell you that I too, am a believer and would love to ride with you, but I'm afraid we might get "attacked" for sharing that on the 4m.;) Strange world, eh?:)

I thought I could stay away from this one but i can't.... I would rather ride with some of you guys on here and have a safety net than ride with somebody that stole their tank of gas to get there eh!! Could be a worse scenario, and heck while you are BS'n would rather be with some of them if I end up buried in white stuff then with some of the other clowns I see "out there"...... "literally"!

Cheers! and good luck to you

Wrong

Ok, here’s my story. I went to church every Sunday played trumpet in the brass section and was spending quite a lot of time there. One week the Pastor asked if I had a particular tool and when I said yes he asked if he could borrow it. When he came to the house I was working on my sled and he seemed in a hurry so I gave him the tool and he left. The NEXT Sunday this is what he said during his sermon. “I don’t know how much a new snowmobile is but I think a person should give that money to Missions rather than buying a new snowmobile.” That was around 5 years ago and I haven’t been back to church since.

Bro Iam Sorry about that and thats one thing that gets me upset with some preachers,Pastors,ECT.
They are no one and I mean no one to tell you what to buy or not to buy...If God puts it in your heart to give to missions you do it .......
But thats wrong for them to give you a guilt trip about your decissions in what you buy....Thats between you and your wife if you have one and GOD.

But I hope one day you go back to church and put them clowns behind you that give you those guilt trips........

trikerider

I to am sorry that a preacher would judge you like that. about buying a snowmobile
in all things whatever we do do it for christ. In our beliefs everything belongs to god its just how we use them weather its just having fun or other things.

let me ask you guys some thing that are so offended by a Christian guy asking for others of life faith that want to hook up and ride to post to this thread...

when your on the hill sharing about the good time you had getting wasted on your old friend "bud wiser" or reliving the good time you had sticking your last one dollar bill in some teen are girls g string while your wife is at home ....

how many times do you have Christin guy spout off and rip you for offending him? My guess is none of you have ever had it happen ...Maybe you have caught your self and felt guilty for doing it in front of your Christan friend...but no one of you can honestly say that you have been ripped into on the mountain by a fellow sledder they way this thread has gone for Capin4...

But as a Christian we are supposed to sit back and listing to language that offends us or to listen to situations or stories that are offencive or shut up to drinking and driving or the hill...... but we have to clam up when we are looking for some one of like faith to ride with??

are you serious right now??

We listen to this crap every where we go and say nothing...why...why are you guys never worried about offending others with what you spew the way we have to worry about offending you?

I ride hard and live hard ...I screw up and I make some right decisions....so why are people of faith the target of you guys....

you want a target? pick a TV preacher if you gotta have someone to tear down...

dont tear down the guy that is just doing the best he can for himself in his personal preparations for eternity...thats his life...dont make his struggles yours if you dont want them...thats what brings on the anger....just let it roll the way we have too ....

cut the guy some slack...this isnt a battle of judgments unless you honestly feel that way...then surch your self not the poor guy that made you feel angry over making a post as simple as this...

PEACE!

Well said Eric

wow......thats scarry

Isn't it amazing how many people have given up on God and eternity with him because some "human" in the church has offended them...thats where nearly all the negative remarks had come from yet they felt compelled to click on this thread anyway....huh...wierd:face-icon-small-blu

Thats gotta be ol Lucifer's 1# trick in his bag....well almost:beer;:face-icon-small-win

I guess for me I just put my pride aside untill I can realize that my goal is making it not chewing somones butt because they said somthing stupid...hes still my brother....Im not going to disown him....eternity is just going to be to long to think about why I walked away over what some clown said to make me mad....lol:rolleyes:

Is it just me.....or does it hurt your head to try and wrap your mind around how long eternity is.....it has no end.....ouch!! :face-icon-small-sho

I guess i only have another 50 or so years in me here on earth any way...I think I'll play the game by the rule book...heck... ...I dont think I'll write my own plays and hope to win...they consequences of loosing are too large to take that gamble....I like it cold and snowy....Somthing tells my that the firey pit of hell wont have much snow....:face-icon-small-ton

whats really wild is how many people think there playing the game with out reading the play book...pretty detailed instructions on what offense and defense to play in every situation....Were all on the same team but the rules are all differant....Im not sure how that works?

Well ...with an obama coming to power we'll all find out what games gettin played on us soon enough I guess...

Peace!!:)

Tactic: I disagree with you, I believe it is totally appropriate to post this. This is a forum, and I for one am grateful for the opportunity to speak my mind, ask questions, learn and share. If there is a thread or topic I don’t like or disagree with, I don’t participate. Which is why I think Reverup is exactly correct: if you have something, ANYTHING against folks that follow the Christian belief system, why on earth would you even ‘waste’ your time reading it?

Trickrider: I am very sorry that you had the experience you shared with your former pastor, that was unfortunate. I have had interaction with others that behaved in what I would consider a similar manner, and it is a poor reflection on values of our faith.

X-rated: I agree with the idea of living our lives in a manner that shows that our value system is a good one. I like to use the term ‘lifestyle evangelism’, hopefully being a shining example, and actually inspiring curiosity.

Using a forum to meet like-minded folks, (remember, we are all on this forum because we share an interest in a common activity) with similar values is a great idea. And, when you have a family, and you feel a responsibility to help support a positive environment for them to grow in, (a responsible husband/father does this in all areas), it makes total sense to try to build relationships with others that share similar values.

Capen4: If you get to W. Washington, drop me a line, I’ll be happy to ride with you and your family.

You know I think if SOME sleders can get together and drink,Smoke,Or and say nasty jokes around the camp fire and I as a christian do not mind because I have made the choice not to be their with them.
Why cant we as christians get together and share are thoughts around the camp fire and not get beat......
You know I was with a group of guys one time out sledding and that night most of them went out to a topless bar and did what ever they did.But what I think about is how they can go home and face their wifes and children and not feel guilty about it.

Iam all about having fun in the snow and spending time with my wife and boys,And living a clean life....

Another thing is that all you guys that do not belive in what a CHRISTIAN belive and has posted your thoughts to where you respect us and stand up for us even if you do not agree with us........
You guys are showing more maturity than others...And it proves that you are more of a man than others for the respect...AND I THANK YOU

Yikes, quite the thread.

If nothing less, I learned about religion which I know nothing about.

Can a non-religious man pray ? Or it that offensive ? Well, here goes......

GOD PLEASE LET IT SNOW ASAP !!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen

until theres proof god actually exists...

there is no moral code that should dictate human behavior. there's no such thing as good or evil, right or wrong. our values and morals come from us and belong to us. decide them for yourselves, rather then seeking some external justification for them.
