looking for christian snowmobilers

A lot of confusion on this topic. As a few others have said, it's not about religion, take that one off the table.

It's about a personal, daily walk with Jesus Christ. Which ultimately leads to eternal life, power over death. Once you've experienced that there is no greater rush. Not even pulling a first ascent on a 330 HP Apex LOL.

If I lived closer I would love to ride with you guys. I'll ride with anyone willing to have a good time. And I'll never try and shove anything down your throat. We do usually ride with at least one Bible in the group, and often times we will break it open on a mountain top to hear a good word.

Disclaimer...I'm far from perfect. Just ask anyone who knows me LOL. As Pray4snow said, Thank God for Forgiveness.

P.S.
306 Mafia, There is a quote in the first line of my sig, it's from the Good Book and directly pertains to your statement.

Well "preached" brother Remmy! I've been a christian since Christmas 1994, when I humbly accepeted Jesus as my savior in the cab of my Toyota, following a Christmas service. Awesome day! I've been in church every week since then. I've met some "weirdos" along the way. God made all sorts of people; skinny ones, fat ones, ugly ones, pretty ones, Acrtic Cat riders, Polaris riders and yes, weirdos(the Yamaha riders:D):face-icon-small-dis I ride with everyone I can find. Guys from church, guys here from the 4m, and my uncles. My uncles are hard core concrete men and "unsaved". They say and do things I don't. But you know what? I love them. If they ask me a God question, they'll get a God answer. If they don't, I don't bust their chops. I'll leave the Judging up to God. The same goes for my fellow cronies on the 4m. I've ridden with Snomark, Yammerhammer, Rkymtnman, Bushmaster, etc. They are all different from me, and each other. The only preaching I've ever down in front of them pertained to their brand of sleds they ride!:) Don't be afraid of Christians. Yes there are some weirdos, but for the most part they are trying to live a life worthy of their namesake.

Ok, here’s my story. I went to church every Sunday played trumpet in the brass section and was spending quite a lot of time there. One week the Pastor asked if I had a particular tool and when I said yes he asked if he could borrow it. When he came to the house I was working on my sled and he seemed in a hurry so I gave him the tool and he left. The NEXT Sunday this is what he said during his sermon. “I don’t know how much a new snowmobile is but I think a person should give that money to Missions rather than buying a new snowmobile.” That was around 5 years ago and I haven’t been back to church since.

I can't believe nobody else asked this but......... Did you get the tool back?????

Some of you have said that the problem with the world today is the divisiveness that exists between people.

This is the problem as I see it gentlemen.

The very nature of Christianity is one that perpetuates that divisiveness.

It is what is implicit in Capen's second post on page 1 of this thread.

It is what is believed in the hearts of many Christians.

It is an arrogance and self-righteousness that is woven into the very fabric that is Christianity.

It is that Chrisitians think they are right and everyone else is wrong.
This is but one example that expounds this belief; Exodus 20: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
There are many more examples of this type of exclusive and elitist thought in the bible if you choose to look for it.

This type of thought process is fundamentally wrong.
If you do not see this belief system as being divisive and the true problem with portions of our society you need to think about it some more.

Personally, I find this belief system to be offensive in its very nature.

I don't like hearing about it on my doorstep and I don't like reading about it on my snowmobile forum.

I never thought we would get such interest in a thread like this.
Like myself and other people have said I'm looking for other believers who ride and any one is invite to ride with us. I'm not going to preach to you at 10,000. I'm in the mountains to enjoy the day and the people I'm riding with no matter who it is or what day it is or what they believe.

If were riding and we stop for a break And you ask I would answer any questions you have about Jesus and god to the best of my ability. I have yet to even take a bible with me on a trip.
Last time i rode it was kind of hard to talk to someone that was climbing up a hill or when we were running 70 down the trial.

My actions aren't perfect sometimes but I try to live my life the way that Jesus did.

First of all let me say I am a christian. Have been my whole life.(im only 24 years old though).

I am excited to see other christians out there who ride and enjoy the splendor of god's creation in the mountains. I get to go out west 1 time a year and I can't think of anything more pristine than the mountains. Every direction you look you see beauty and how can you not want to praise the Creator for that?

And I would say that 90% of christians are not going to stand up and preach legalism to you! Probally 20% are afraid to say that they are christian due to the reaction that it creates. I myself and proud to say I follow Jesus Christ I am not perfect and never will be i can only strive to please him. I have seen miracles that are not explainable other than by god's grace! Being a christian doesn't mean you go to church every sunday doesn't mean your perfect and don't enjoy a drink or two doesn't mean your not going to use a swear word or god's name in vain. It is called sin and everyone does it. It is how you deal with it that defines your life in Christ.

Just praise God for the beauty of his creation and our amazing playground that he has given us.

I agree with trinitypower about who he will ride with. I know many people who are not christians and I do not look down upon them I am not a self rightous person, some of my best friends are not beleivers as well as family members but my feelings for them are the same as for the person who i sit in church with on a sunday morning.

Not sure if you will read this....but the text your using is from the Old Testemant...the old covenant....the laws of and for the Jews.

As christians and born again believers, we follow a new "law" that of the new testemant. That which say nobody can uphold the old law so Jesus took the burden upon himself and paid the cost for the rest of us. By no means is being a christian an elitist group filled with elitist thoughts. It is a faith based around love and forgiveness.

Might I recommend to those of you who read a book called , "The Shack". It explains this so much better then I can and I think the theme and story in the book is something that will pull on everyone's mind and heart.

OK, well here is some new testament for you. I could go on and on. You can say that you are not exclusive and elitist but the religion you believe in is. Choose intellect over blind faith. Read the new testament and you will be amazed in what you think you believe in.

Book of John, Chapter 10 Verse 1 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way he is a theif and robber."

Chapter 9 "I am the door, if anyone enter through ME, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture"

If this is not exclusionary, divisive and eliteist I am not sure what is.

Well.... back to the real reason for this post. I'll to ride with ya. If you find your self around southeast idaho let me know. Anyone else out there that wants to go let ride and leave the rest behind.

I would be a liar if I said I never "thanked god" for making it over a snowy pass on my way to the hills, or exclaimed "jesus christ" while bashing a pristine mountain powder meadow.....but really...are there not any devoted Bible-Sled forums for this??

To directly seek others and ONLY "Christian Riders" is quite cultish, but hey isn't that what these forums are anyway? These forums are the very definition of cult:

"a cohesive social group devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding population considers to be outside the mainstream, with a notably positive or negative popular perception"

A cult I'm damn proud to be a part of.

I worship the snow and the mountains like many worship the ways of the ancients and the bible. You have a preacher to speak to those that will listen, I have then silence of the woods...yet it still tells a story.

The Mountains are my church, and nature is my savior.

Is it wrong to drink beer in Church?? I do that all the time!! My church is best.

Again I don't have a religion.

Yeppers anyone, pretty exlusice elite term there....

LEt's say a 2 guys come into your hourse. First knocks and walks in the front door, the other breaks a back window out and climbs in....who you gonna talk to and who ya gonna shoot?

This really should get moved to the 'fouled plug' section

But Tactic, those passages that you cite to support your opinion do NOT exclude anyone from following Him. It doesn't exclude or limit anyone. When you have that kind of thinking that turns a faith into a religion. I for one, don't care for religon, but FAITH, now faith is a very different story, and faith is very important to me.

I didn't say it first, but I belive in the statement that "Religion devides people, faith unites them"

One of the fundemental values of the Christian faith, is the power of personal choice. We as an individual can choose to accept or reject the offer of forgivness (among other things). If you choose not to share my beliefs (faith) that's your choice, I'm not putting you down, I don't even think less of someone for that. I have great friendships with others that do not share my beliefs. That's ok, and I don't try to 'convert' them, I don't preach at them, I don't judge them. Not my job, over my pay-grade, and I don't WANT the responsibility to judge anyone. But I will return to my earlier point, there is nothing wrong with anyone looking to spend time with others that share their values. (if you think about it, its the same reason some folks CHOOSE to join a swinger's club => they are like minded with similar interests/values: nobody forces them to join)

Unless you own the servers and write the checks, this is not only your forum. It's a privelage we all have (not a right) to be able to participate here, and nobody is telling you you can't start a thread to search for people to ride with right? He chose to start a thread, and frankly, it's been YOUR choice to participate.

folks, if someone posted saying they were looking for short track (121) riders to go play in meadows in the Colorado area, we'd all chuckle, and a few folks would find new riding buddies in Colorado with similar interests.

If 3 ladies were planning a ride to Idaho, and wanted other ladies to come along, they could post and folks would find each other.

I used to ride with some LDS folks. They were pretty gungho about their religion. I tried to keep my swearing down, they tried to keep their preaching down, we all had a great time on those saturdays we rode.

As I get older, I try to get more tolerant about things.

The born agains are being very clear about what they want, and I think we should show some respect for our fellow human beings and fellow sled heads.

This is too wierd for me...Ive met lots of great people out riding not sure if they were christians or the antichrist.JUdge people how they live not what church they go to.

Amen to that Brother. I've always said I have higher morals than most super religious people. Never understood how you can cast judgement about a person by their religion or lack of.
Next time I find a couple people in a world of trouble stuck on their rental sleds I should ask what religion they are before I rescue them.hhmmmmmm.
No, that's not my style.

So what's the best track?????

I guess the guy came on strong, but like others said, don't like it, don't ride with him. At least he's warning you up front. I would ride with you if I can afford to go this year. I'm a practicing Christian, I'm just not very good at it yet. :) I like to refer to myself as a "recovering Baptist". I shunned the Church for a while, but never God.

As far as being pushy, many Christians believe it is their mission to convert others. It's just the methods vary from person to person. BTW, all other religions in the world also try to spread their message, either through peaceful means or by force. This includes the current Muslim extremism as well as the Christian Crusades. Not every religion is perfect.

My Christianity is about as much as saying a quick silent prayer before I eat. I'm even getting brave enough to do it out loud with my daughter so I can teach her it is ok to pray in public if you feel the need. Having a daughter brought me back into Church.

I do wonder how many of you that have been in severe accidents or stranded overnight prayed at some point. Sort of like the old saying, "There are no Atheists in foxholes."

Hey Mr Tactic; you didn't have to read nor respond to this thread. I'm sorry that you had to see the word Christian, out in the open, in the General Forum section. Now then, don't be so JUDGEMENTAL about my faith. You are trying awful hard to make your point. Capen didn't go anywhere near the length you have to prove his point. In fact, he never really had one. So relax, and don't try so hard to disprove God. He's bigger than you anyway:)
