Keep your Pro...

Not bashing the Doo, Its a good sled, just doesnt handle as easy as a pro. Thats why people fall off the first time they ride one, because it takes less efffort to ride the pro. Its just works better in most conditions. I would like to ride the XM to see for myself how it rides. As for you's that are spanking your buds on the hills, its because your a better rider, Doesnt matter what you are on. For that fact I out rode my buds this year on their new XP's with my 2008 IQ rmk 700, Its the rider and his abilities.

I have both sleds, an E-Tec and a Pro. Same rider (me), same hill, the Pro will go higher on the hill, especially when the snow is really deep.

Pro Rmk agree 17yr old video

I am riding my 860 big xp. Have two of the xp and two of the pro. IMO have to agree after riding 30 years the pro is just a much more controllable once on its side, balance point is very predictable.

The attached video is of my youngest son. I think for those who try both for several days most will say the pro is easier to ride. We also have the new e tech, just saying. I really enjoy my 174*3 pro sled, it does not himark my 860xp 174*2.5 with twin jaws but it is impressive and much less work to ride in our technical tree area of NW Montana.

IMO doo has the motor, poo has the chassis.:face-icon-small-ton

I would trade 10 lbs for better cooling on my pro. Ridden in any kind of soft snow at speed my Pro runs 125-127 no matter how hard I work it. Run it on a trail and forget to put the scratchers down and it heats up fast. I just got back from riding with Chris Brown for 3 days in Whistler(awesome!) and we had to run up a tight trail up through the trees for about 6-8 miles. Trail was only skis wide and deep enough you couldn't pop out to get in the deep snow. Also it was hard to get any speed up as it was in the trees. Sled hit 180 pretty quick with the scratchers down. Chris said his Pro over heated on that trail too. His Yamaha and the 2 XPs we were with never broke a sweat. Ride the Pro in it's element and it is a great sled. Try to do other things with it and it's a pain.

You could ride the old Dragon for years and it still handled lik crap. 100 yards or 10,000 miles, it didn't matter. It had the same problem of wanting to go down the hill if you dropped the downhill ski. I did not see any obvious rider error in the video. The Pro goes where you want to very easily and you can drop the downhill ski and pull it back up without getting shot down the mountain. Ski Doo's suspension and track gimmicks are just an attempt to fix a bad handling chassis. It is hard to polish a turd , and a heavy one at that. Finally, the power thing means nothing. Compare horsepower to weight and you will see that the sleds are very close to equal in power.

We have a pro in our riding group, it is very nimble I must say. But since the motor spends most time on the work bench we mainly use the sled as a toboggan.

We have an ETEC in our riding group of 4 pros. We really only invite him along in case we need someone to pull one of our POS Pros out when the motor blows. If it wasn't for that, we wouldn't even talk to him.

and did you notice that some of the harshest comments were from people on SW also. although some don't seem to be quite so mouthy when they aren't just talking to the choir. the xm is a nice sled with nice improvements over the xp. in the ideal snow conditions i rode it in it felt similar to a pro and i could actually get it to do what i wanted without the expected effort of an xp. i would have like to ride it in less than ideal snow conditions also but didn't get the chance. oh, and tree boss, did you know you are a really bad rider. total rook. read that on dootalk, must be true... :)

It's the nature of tree boss to hit trees that's his name tree boss! He's just doing what he does best;)
In all seriousness your gonna hit trees eventually if that's all you ride I've seen drew do it I've done it and I'm sure a lot of people on snowest have done
It. But I can't ride those xp's worth a crap never tried the xM but
I know for sure I'd roll it Into a tree. The fact is doo guys have to work harder to maneuver their sled. More then cat or poo guys and they know it! It's funny one
Of the comments on doo talk said "my xp is easy to throw around once I had set it up"

My point is tree boss will hit trees on whatever he's on whether it was his xp, his turbo cat(first 20 min of riding, or our first ride in Alpine this year;)) Only messing arOund drew!
He's a great rider and couldve done a lot better on his assault in those conditiOns then on a ski doo
