I need a chest protector

i bought a rock garden flak jacket. i use it for both down hill mountain biking and sledding. it has a chest protector, kidney belt, turtle shell, shoulder pads, and elbow pads. much like the evs does but i can remove the turtle shell, kidney belt and elbow pads. i like having that option. i haven't tested it yet except for my buddy punching me in the chest... but it is obviously better than nothing.

I currently feel the 661 core saver is the best compromise. I'm not saying this is the ultimate in protection. I don't think anyone has really designed what riders are looking for yet.
However, the core saver does provide shoulder, chest, rib and spinal protection. Has a built in kidney belt. And important to me is that it is highly vented. And gives freedom of movement.

Tek Vest is outdated IMO. Bulkier than I prefer and very hot. Protective, yes. Comfortable, no. And snowmobiling should be an enjoyable experience. Not one where you are constantly fighting your gear.

strange you say that... I don't feel it's that bulky, it's thinner/lighter than my rodeo vest and that's not all that heavy. Comfortable for me too, i've left it on driving home before and never even thought twice about it. Only time I fight it is when my pack snags on teh shoulder when I'm putting it on. For the protection, i'll take what few minor inconvienences it provides.

Tekk vest this year. Rode twice with it, now don't think i would ride without it. Got the Polaris racing version, because it came further down my rib cage then the Klim version.

I wear a moisture wicking shirt under it so I don't feel sweaty, but it does get pretty stinky after 3 days of riding!! I won't ride without it now that I have it, don't notice that it's on till you need it.

I wear a pro model baseball catcher chest protector. Its not the absolute best in protection but it does spread the impact out and helps quite a bit. Plus, it is built for baseball catchers that run, throw, jump, block, and sweat alot. So it moves with you very well and gets rid of sweat.

i was gonna buy a tec vest with the shoulder pads but at just over 400 bucks and being on a college budget that came to an end real sudden, not sold on the b wear for real aggresive riding

picked up the sixsixone core saver and love it. For the price ($140) it can't be beat, fits great and gives great protection.

last Friday I suffered a rib injury and want to prevent that from

Picked up my tekvest with shoulders for around $220 shipped...
xtremesledparts.com; my setup (freestyle+shoulders) = $244.

Best money i've ever spent; saved me from more than a few busted up ribs... most recently when I .

You're welcome to try my BWear if we hook up riding someday Mayor ... I love that thing and won't ride without it! I had the rear bumper give me a 180 deg. end-over-end SLAP last season; broke 3 ribs WITH the vest on but that would be an extreme test case; now I know what the rock feels like when it leaves the catapult
