Finger throttle doubts

I ****ing love the finger throttle I rode about 5 days and about 200 miles with it and it is amazing best grip and throttle control I have ever had. I love the thing changed my riding for the better. That being said I am switching to the 2025 throttle. We rode Wyoming and have a bunch of headlight deep snow and it was all over the handle bars and so bad condition for icing up the cable and it did super bad. The throttle stuck wide open on me twice once on the trail in the morning and once In the trees climbing. Required me to try to pull my own tether asap and I went of the trail luckily sticking it in a drainage and missing a guard rail. Same situation in the trees causing a reentry type move into a tree. Never by this product it is u. Safe and junk and yes I used the gaurd and ultimately a branch ended up bending the cable making a bad spot in it and that is all in one week so it is a giant wast of time and money. But man I wish it would have worked out because I did like it very much

The cable has to be securely and thoughtfully routed flush and tight with the bars or it can make a catch point. Mine did that, but I had been lazy with the cable protection.

Note: 2025 Poo is different than 2024, Boo.

cable icing has nothing to do with the finger throttle.
a branch can screw up a cable using a thumb throttle too.
i have seen way more issues with thumb throttles, including broken ones.
to each is own. it's nice to have choices

like Kylant and Tjyak50 say. I have 35yrs of finger throttle use and no problems. we used to rotate our thumb throttles when we ran big bore mod sleds, easier to pull 3 44mm carbs than push. the only thing that i have noticed is if you are turning the heated grip and flipper on and off through the day it will ice up but so does the thumb

I only where klim inversion uninsulated gloves so I have maximum grip and I run the bar heaters all day always on. I have never had a problem with my thumb throttle icing up, and I went above and beyond on the installation to keep this thing from deice from freezing I even filed down Farrell and that goes into thumb throttle and use some silicone lubricant on it to keep it extra smooth and not to ice you can see in the picture where the cable bent slightly because of the throttle pull when it froze

The cable housing has to be hidden and armored from snagging via routing back in with the bar and grouped with the other wires (behind any bag).

Mine was initially running wild in front of the bar and snagged a branch. Easy fix.

I wish that was the case here but it is bent right at the finger throttle flipper from icing up and sticking the cable runs a lot smoother and the angle at the perch is a lot better with it out front I realize it can snag but I am removing it now anyway unfortunately
