HORRIBLE END to a great day and a new sled…

Tell me more about this "snow plow" kit that needs replacing.
So
this was something I wanted to TEST out this year.
Last year I had some really serious Snow SUFFICATION issues with the Turbo Expert.
On 6 different occassions that engine stalled due to lack of available air, as the snow was DEEP and constantly coming up over the hood and sealing the air intakes.

I noticed that Ski-Doo offered a powder Deflector option on the sled and decided to give it a try and see if I could keep SOME of the powder from coming up over the hood and burying the Air-Intake vents.

Post a pic of how you had the sleds tied down. This is very important information for the sled community. There could be a rash of sleds falling off trailers if we can’t control the spread of 15 mph tie down failures. You must save the community or dealerships will be inundated with severely damaged trailer faller offer sleds. Do it for humanity.

I will post pics when I bring home the next sled next week.

interesting because there's an auxiliary air intake just for this purpose. maybe the spring pressure was to tight on that aux intake?

Really sucks your new sled got tore up.

My buddy just bought an "old sled deck" its got these weird flip up metal deals that clamp the outside of one ski. Even before seeing this we were thinking well this could flop over to the outside and drag a sled down the highway... if the flip over deal was on the inside ski maybe it would make more sense.

Your pictures proved our fears.

I'm so sorry though, what a bummer.

Maybe this is an insane idea, because I tend to go down the rabbit hole of over-preparing. Current set-up is 2 sleds on an 8' Marlon deck using front and rear Superclamps. For a few years now I have been toying with the idea of running a second (front) Superclamp behind the spindles on each sled. I have never seen anyone do it. As much as I love Superclamps, I've just never been completely comfortable with the single failure point on the front of the sleds, especially on long trips. Adding a strap may be a cheaper solution I guess.

So I called the guy that made my little trailer and had a chat with him.
He asked why I had failed to tie the spindles together or to starp down the tunnel.
Mentioned to him that strapping the tunnel was a major pain as the sled is longer than the trailer and hangs off the back end.
Offered to extend the trailer to solve the problem.
That alone would have stopped this failure from happening.
So for a short term mid-season solution I might just go that route before getting a whole new trailer next summer built.
