Had to tow the 650 155 home today. Anybody got any ideas of what went wrong?

Ok, everybody, I went down to Force Turbos here in SLC and bought a couple TSS bypasses for the kid sled, and figured I might as well buy one for my sled as well.

However, as we go to install them, it seems like we are going to have to pull quite a bit of stuff apart in order to get to the wiring harness to plug this thing into. It is in there deep enough that I am beyond my comfort zone as a mechanic. Does this sound right to you guys? Or am I missing the easy way to install this plug?

Its pretty awkward but not that bad, make sure you have a bit of time or youll be annoyed
 
My Polaris boost is back in the shop again, 23 snow check junk, Yamaha viper I put the turbo on never went to the shop once go figure?
 
MY Baker before it dropped a code, these 24k machines are junk, I love the platform but this stuff might as well be Chinese

Its super easy. You can handle it. I even just went out and installed the spare TSS I carry to make sure 😂 I had it in and out in 10 minutes… on my Boost, just realized this is on a 650. I ASSUME they are the same.

Take off the panels and hood. Remove the T40 screw that secures the left side console- just above the left side footwell.

Remove the push dart on the front left of the console.

Remove the belt change tool. Hold the console up with your arm, peel open the little velcro bag behind the ECU. Find the only white two wire plug. Unplug. Plug in bypass. Put it all back together.

Had a great day today in lots of deep powder. Cold, windy, and snowy. Then, on the trail ride back, there is a place where big boys can take a short cut down a steep hill and the smaller kids go around on the trail. So my older boy takes this shortcut with some others, and then ends up waiting at the bottom with his sled off while the little kids make their way around on the trail. Probably 5-7 minutes wait. Trail riders catch up, everybody is back together and we all head off. However, the 650 starts acting up. It will idle fine, but when we give it throttle, it will maybe go forward like 5 or 10 feet and then it wants to bog and die. I guess not as much "bog" as just kind of die. We keep working with it. Turning it off, turning it back on, get a few moments where it will actually go 20 feet or so, and after about 200 feet, we decide to give up and tow it back.

Get it home - about 1.5 hours of drive and 1 hour of dinner - it pulls out of the trailer just fine. we run it around the grass in the yard a bit and everything seems completely normal and fine.

With it now running fine, it seems likely that if I take it to the mechanic home revsita, he will not be able to replicate the problem, and therefore will just tell me there is nothing he can do.

Anybody got any ideas?

Common problems could include a dead battery, fuel system failure, or a mechanical issue like a clogged fuel filter, overheated engine, or transmission trouble. Electrical faults, such as a faulty ignition switch or blown fuses, could also be culprits.

alright, so with your help and photos, we decided to give it a go. Here are some things we noticed as we did. I thought I should throw these up there just in case anybody else is seeing this or just in case we did something really wrong.

So we opened my boy's 650 first. We had a fair amount of airbox in the way. Maybe the Turbos don't have as much airbox in the way? Anyway, it was ok because it wasn't super in the way. Easy enough to work around. But then when we got in there, it was definitely not the only white 2-wire plug in there. The 650 had 3 white 2-wire plugs. However, we looked at the wire colors from your pictures and took our best guess from there. Your pictures seem to show something close to a red and black wire. Maybe the black wire had a blue stripe? So we took our best guess on that. There was one with two black wires, so we didn't pick that one, and then I think there was one with a black and blue maybe, so we didn't pick that one either. We chose the only one that had a red as your picture seemed to have a red.

Then when we opened up my 850, one of the three 2-wire plugs was actually blue on one end, so once again, we didn't do that one, especially because it wasn't the one with a red wire.

Machines started up and seemed to run ok, so hopefully we are plugged into the correct one. I suppose only time will truly tell.

the tss bypass is the same for the 650 and the 850, 9R, boost. I have done it to all of them. all of those plugs have a different shape, so there is only one the tss bypass will fit into, which will be the correct one. you can also follow the wire down from the throttle into the bag.
it is really not hard...
