a big "thorn in the flesh" to scientists is their rather comical struggle to explain thoughts and conclusions that are based in a brain that is purely mechanical. this in fact was one of the key issues darwin struggled with. atheists have not meaingfully defused these questions and ultimately leave them with a worldview that turns into circular agruments. heres a quote referring to the relationship of the brain to the mind by some guy named newbigin:" however we may explain our mental states, we know that we have them. i think that i exist. if this idea is only a series of electrical pulses in my brain, the capacity of the brain to produce these pulses must be the result of evolution by natural selection. but since the idea that i can by my will affect the operation of these pulses is an illusion, the existence of this idea can have no effect upon what happens in the world of physical and chemical change. therefore, it can have no bearing on natural selection. therefore, the existence of this illusion is an unexplained mystery since it cannot have arisen from natural selection. the 'explanation' fails to explain."

now look at the earth and its relationship to the sun, moon etc. it functions in a very orderly manner. that is unmistakable and in good conscience irrefutable. so take the big bang theory in reference to the orderly manner... here's an analogy(big bang) that is a bit of an understatement in my mind but particularly germane to the topic: the big bang theory is like going to a junkyard, setting off a bomb, waiting for the dust and rubble to settle and walla you have the most sophisticated, operational, stealth jet fighter known to man. just so you know i heard that analogy somewhere... not my own.

my thoughts exactly

anybody that actually believes in the evolution deal is ...well RETARDED

I believe in evolution with divine intervention...period as far as christian yes I am. how else can you explain greed, hate, envy, pain, love, remorse, and compassion....those aren't traits animals themselves posesses

thought this thread was dead, guess snow is tring to make his thread go on forever!!!!! Trying to ster up the pot???

snow,
believe what you want. all ways have holes in them, some just have fewer in diffrent peoples opinions. as for evol.. its it really that hard to believe that we all came from a single cell over millions of years. where do you come from? you are (goo) and turn into a average hieght of 6 ft. and can talk and so on. so is it really that far fetched? or is it just easier to believe in a magic man said poof, we have people, plants, planet, and so on. maybe we are all wrong, but let let this one rest. when proof comes, then let us know, if not, keep it to yourself.

Thanks

The logic and reason of H2SNOW ran down his daddys leg....

well i guess if that is the sentiment(let the thread die) then so be it. i for one actually enjoy debating such things. one thing i am curious about though... i wonder how me as well as others(both sides) will be thought of after a thread like this? i mean prior to the last two religious threads(both by h2snow) a guy could relatively just blend in. if you jumped into the frey with any kind of substance to the argument... no more blending in. the veil has been pulled back and you get an insight into that persons worldview which invariably speaks how a person "does life" if you will. especially in a context like this, no intangibles, you can definitely be left with a mental asterisk next to your name which is unwarranted but is life. just some closing musings of mine... c-ya all!

I too enjoyed the debate and I'm sure some of you hate me know like the good book tells you to. No hard feelings here and I wish you all well.

Dude, no where does it say in our book that we should hate you. We actually shouldn't hate anyone (still dealing with that one day to day). :D I don't think people will be "branded" on here per their beliefs (attitudes maybe, but not beliefs). I know a lot of non-belivers that live a better (morally speaking) lifestyle than a lot of Christians I know. Question...if you were riding and came up on an avalanche, would you (as a believer or non-believer) help dig out the person buried that was opposite in thought as you? If not, then you have issues.

Here's how it is...

Proverbs 25:21-22 (NKJV)

21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
22 For so you will heap coals of fire on his head,
And the LORD will reward you

Wishing everyone the best...:beer;

Sorry Eric but I just had to point out the fact that no matter what you do or do not believe the Islamic radicals will hate you just the same if you are not one of them period. Being Christian or Jewish still doesn't measure up to being American in their eyes. Which if these ultra liberal idiots in this country could get that through their self hating thick skulls maybe we could get somewhere in dealing with them. Not trying to start anything with you but the fact remains that as long as they are still alive and practicing thier religion there is no hope for peace and freedom in the middle east.

got nuke ???

That's probably right.
In order to live in peace, we must first kill many many people!:p

Sad but probably true there Mafesto. Its tough to deal rationally with people who see death as winning and even better if they can take as many with them who don't believe the same.
Good riddance to the crazy bastages. They make nothing and nowhere better.

Agreed, If it was up to me I'd pull the troops out and turn the whole area into a sheet of glas via a couple nukes. the go back and dtart some drilling for the black stuff. Would Radioactive Gasoline give me boost like performance out of my sled???:D
