The end of 2024 and 2025 Little Truckee Summit Snow conditions

He groomed from Yuba to LTC parking lot Friday night. Found so awesome snow yesterday. My old ass is out of shape for powder. I guess now that Jeff Wiley retired from the Forest Service. We’re not getting any service at all. I was told due to Trump budget cuts. We don’t get any service anymore, He hasn’t even been an office for a month yet, I don’t get it I did complain about a grooming report and I got one from some lady , but it’s not much. I’ll let you know if he got out last night.

Shouldn't the people that received the grooming contract post the report as they finish the trails?

What if we could get Elon to audit the forest service for just dumb moves?Don’t take into consideration the lack of grooming. On the Bassett’s side they haven’t been allowed to groom again for some reason as of yesterday.Up at the Shaver Lake area out of Tamarack Snopark I haven’t seen the groomer in two years.Wonder if Biden forgot to have his cronies pay for grooming while he sent billions to worthless projects.

I would think the guy doing the grooming at LTS keeps a log of some sort each time he is grooming. He could very easily email the daily log to the Forest Service. It could then be put together as a grooming report and sent out email to everyone that used to receive it from Jeff Wileys past email contact list. Seems pretty simple to me. Another issue is who is cleaning the restroom and picking up the trash left there. Jeff Wiley used to be it before he retired, now what, I guess we get to wait and see.

Yes that sounds great however ..Nothing is simple when it comes to the government .

No, it isn’t. We have put in numerous phone calls this year to Brian Davies and the Forest Service about the grooming. It started out at LTS staging and then we lost snow down low. They decided he could groom from Yuba. He groomed a few days before the storm from Yuba. On Saturday, he groomed from Yuba to LTS and back to Yuba. Since then we have not seen him at LTS. Nothing else is groomed here except for the 07 road to Yuba Pass turn off. The grooming program for the Bassett area is done by volunteers. One of the local snow clubs over there does it. I haven’t heard anything about grooming over there in quite some time. Tom, the groomer new guy lives in Danville. He would just like to groom from Yuba. Short drive to home. This is what I’ve heard. He cannot groom, LTS and get it all done from there just not enough gas and time. I’ve read the grooming contract and says he has to stage at LTS. I think something funny is going on here. The grooming program is funded by the green sticker program, which we all donate to. Every year when we pay our registration. Unfortunate the state of California managers it and I truly believe they are stealing money out of it. I’ve been saying this now that Trump‘s in office we need an audit.

The state of Taxifornia has been robbing the green sticker funds for years. They need the $$ to feed the 2 trillion in unfunded Pension liabilities.

The thing you need to due is, Talk to Sierra County about the grooming at LTS. The County gets the funds each year for grooming from the state OHV Fund. It then contracts the grooming to a private contractor for the work to be performed. For many years now the Forest Service is not in the grooming business ,I have been told this many times in the past by the District Ranger, This season ,due to recent layoffs etc. at the Forest Service, it will be hard to get them to do anything. Try talking to the county in a nice way and see if they can help you out. I have been involved with Sierra County issues in the past and find them more than willing to work with you.

Members of the Sierra Snowbuster’s groom from Bassett’s up to Yuba pass and the Gold lake area. Some new members of the club from GrayEagle are also learning to run the groomer. Interesting how Oregon OHV fee is $10.00 for two years and Comifornia is $52.00 for two years. There are so many on subsidized living they need all the money they can steal.

Unfortunately, too many people are calling and complaining lately. The grooming program has been on the chopping block for years. Forest Service wanted to give it up years ago. County said no and stepped in to help with the grooming program. I got word yesterday that we are only one vote away from losing the whole program. We get a new guy this year. That’s never done a job like this and has no idea of the scope of the work he needs to do we complain and wear the bad guys. All I can say is hopefully this guy gets her **** together soon. The.07 main road at LTS is supposed to be groomed three times a week. all other trails in the grooming system once a week. Any trails have not even been gone once this year. As far as the snow conditions go, I got out yesterday and they’re awesome. The new snow we got last Friday it’s starting to set up and good to go anywhere good coverage. Still a little thin down by the parking lot so I would stay on the trail up to Parazzo Meadow turn off.
