Rode Gorman today (Lange, Cirque, looked into Quartz Lake, Holt) not much left for fresh snow, most north slopes have slid from wind loading and most south slopes have slid from the heat. The slopes that are left are getting high marked, some pretty sketchy stuff going on out there. Some guys still aren't understanding the danger right now. Saw one southish facing slope that has already slid once this year and buried a sledder triggered again today by a snow boarder, this time it 'stepped down' and slid right to the ground. When things are holding snow, steep enough, and are sitting there basking in the sun, it's probly a good idea to leave it alone.
Otherwise it was an ok day of riding, cover ground easily without burning much gas, everyone in the group was laughing and comparing it to times we had ridden in late April, May, or July. It was hot in the sun, water is running in all the creeks and off all the rocks.
When we do get more snow we have reason again to be concerned as there was lots of horror frost in places today from a few clear nights, and the top of the snow in general is firm either from wind or from sun, not a great interface to receive more snow.
