Polaris...... good or bad, we each get to decide. But you sir, you sound like an a$$ no matter what your choice of ride. If you dont like it , dont buy it, but stop enjoying others misfortune so much, it really does expose true character....... yours.

--I think the Pro is a great sled, it apparently just needs some work before you ride it, so that you can ride it.

--Not being an a$$ here, but what is worse, telling people they have a great sled and it will run forever no worries you have a warranty, or helping people realize the reality they may want to at least check some things out before they attempt to go have an awesome weekend. I am not recommending anything that I would not do myself.

--If sled owners are more knowledgeable and proactive about potential issues, 1)they will have a safer, more enjoyable time in the backcountry and 2)manufactures may do better to insure quality engineering and quality OEM components

You would think after the 2008 XP issue, Poo would have spent a little extra time making sure this wouldn't happento them. At least with the XP's owners could weld em up for the time being. Given there is a recall, god knows how long it might take...

I do have to agree with most here. Yea, it sucks, but Poo will make it right, same way Doo did.

The awesome part will be riding your brand new $12,000 pro in constant paranoia wondering if your whiz bang aluminum driveshaft will be the next to snap while crossing a huge avalanche chute 40 miles out in the backcountry. Polaris better deal with this quickly

I'll have to read deeper, I guess I missed the point about the 39 mile warranty.

Just kidding, trying to keep this thread light.

Does anybody find it odd that driveshafts are breaking right now? Seems to me that at the start of the last 2 seasons the big deal was how weak the pro a-arms are..then once everyone has gotten good snow..suddenly the stock arms held up pretty good...havent heard one guy yet own up to tagging a driveshaft on something..but in rides on first snows..i have never not tagged something..I am sure there are a few defective ones out there as well..its mass produced..just food for thought.......

one of the sleds affected in this thread didn't make it out of the dealers shop and it spun the shaft. pretty sure most aren't hitting landmines

read above, youre attempt at sincerity is damaged by comments like the above. i dont believe your goals are all that lofty.

There are a lot of "chicken littles" here for sure. I like to know the facts, but facts don't seem to be requried a lot of the time.
We will be riding in 2 weeks I predict!

All joking and BS on this thread has ruined it.

I know that not all these 13' pros will see failures, but I do think that these failures seen already are a BIG sign that polaris better get to investigating what is going on. Paid ~$12000+ for a snowmobile and they are breaking a very simple component which renders the sled dead in the water!

Any Polaris reps watching this forum, I and many others will not hesitate to jump back to doo or cat, if issues like this go un-noticed and corrected by polaris.

$570 for the 12 shaft complete with drivers and bearings from my local dealer

I'm sure polaris is taking a very serious look into this. The chances of someone getting seriously hurt when one of these lets go is too great to ignore. The one thing that is for sure now is that they do have a problem. How big or small of a problem is yet to be seen.
