It will be hats off to all you Snowesters when this day runs without incident. If we self police the cut blocks, the garbage and the safety it will be a wonderful thing.
We would much rather sled on Sunday and Monday rather than clean up garbage and fix broken sh@# so if everyone helps out maybe we can all have a fun weekend!
See y'all in Zala's on Friday nite :beer; :beer; :musicnote:

As a part of the prep for the big day we met with Revelstoke RCMP. They asked us to pass along this message:

Sledder Gear Bag found on Airport Road yesterday (Tuesday, March 10). Approx Size 15 boots. Call the RCMP to claim. 250-837-5525.

The RCMP were fully aware of the BISO and expect to make a presence. Liquor on the hill will not be tolerated. They also made it very clear that parking on the Westside Road is not an option. Once the parking lots are full....they are full.
For safety reasons, do not expect the parking lots to be open before daylight.

They thank us in advance for our co-operation. :)

Yup looks that way, so we are heading their tonight and having the BIS tomorrow. I guess I will apologize now for tracking up all the chutes before Saturday. And yes...I mean ALL the chutes.;):D

Not sure if I'm going to make it, hope everyone has a good/safe trip !!

Very cool how alot of you are working to try to make sure this deal goes smoothly..:D

To the ones who said "why donate to the club when they don't want to be directly involved?".........

Without the clubs INCREDIBLY hard work after the 2006 event you would not even get to ride in revy because it would all be closed from the problems that happend. The club worked hard to fix the probs and keep the goverment happy.Without the club's year round work this event would not be happening, period.

Everybody have a great time,be safe, pack out what you bring up and respect the closed zones.Oh,POST LOTS OF PICS TOO!!!!:)

Think my point was missed. When I posted what Zacs said...see below:
Bring a few extra bucks to the trail booth as you will be asked to throw in a donation to help cover the expenses of the day. Any funds that are generated that exceed the costs will be donated to the SRS & the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club.

and what the Fabster said:

This was later elaborated on by Zacs in the next reply:

"If it wasn't for all the years of club efforts, we wouldn't have access to these awesome riding areas.
With a few extra funds...who knows, it might lead to improved parking facilities, permanent signage in the cut blocks, funds to maintain the continual talks with environmental and gov't groups...and the list goes on.
Let's look at this from the big picture of sustainable mountain snowmobiling, not just one weekend of fun
. "

I couldn't agree more that the club keeps the riding areas open and work hard to keep things going. They do deserve the utmost credit for that and support. So for those that flame away anyway about 'don't show if you don't like it, etc' understand that if Zacs explained more about the reasons to kick in more for the clubs work it would have made clearer sense with no contradictory arguments.

That said, too bad more "help" wasn't around in 2006 when the BIS became 'Notorious' and now its all about damage control both physical and precieved. As Ironman said if the club could help make this a sustainable, respectable event it would go along ways for mountain sledding...(paraphrasing Ironman).

Perhaps a higher trail fee should be inplace for such events. Calgary Stampede always raises parking fees to coincide with Stampede. So if one pays 1/2 more or double the trail pass price it all goes to benefit the sport.

Nuff said. Hope its a great time. Would have loved to go as I have many times in past but a baby due same weekend is more important.

Many thanks to all who help to make BIS 2009 a success. Go Ozone!
