Another avalanche!... Killed my buddy

Fug, that's awful....wow.

Having to lug him out was probably very horrible.

Can you post a pic of your buddy? It puts a face on an awful deal, and hopefully makes it more real for those who tend to take the avy danger less seriously.

So sorry for your loss and experience. Prayers to the family. Everytime I hear these heartwrenching stories, I get chills.

You and your friends are in our prayers. This is happening too much this season. I am tired of hearing about another sledding brother gone.

Heavy Hearted...........

Oh wow, I heard some rumblings about this... My condolences from just over the hill Ken, noone should have to experience something like that. Stay strong man, and prayers to the family and friends.
Brian

sry to hear that bad news. thoughts and prayers to the family and friends.....i just hate hearing about these accidents

Geez my post was sure "to the point " last night:(....... I guess I was still in shock. I hope I didn't scare anyone away from sledding for good, I just wanted peeps to know about this bad dec 5th ice layer we have around here and that nothing steep is stable. Anyone who lives in BC we have a great website www.avalanche.ca its got very good info there. Mind you, I read it before I went out yesterday and knew about this bad ice layer and told all my fellow riders about it but look what happened. We just couldn't hold back, it looked so settled.
Thanks for all the kind thoughts! Ride safe! Ken

Ken, you are a very special person to come on here and tell us about this horrific accident. I appreciate your thoughts and you trying warn other sledders about the dangers we all face out there.
Prayers to Dave's family and with freinds like you I hope the families pain will be eased somewhat.

It's terrible what happened, I think what alot of people forget is the extra strain that snowmobiles place on the snowpack. Between cutting up the layers and the weight, it's easy to break alot of stuff loose that a skier might not. Those bad layers are also going to be our nemesis for most of the rest of the season also. Everyone please be extremely careful out there. I posted the Colorado avalanche website in my sig. in hopes that it will get more people to think about the dangers. It would be great if more would do the same.
