Another avalanche!... Killed my buddy

Boy, seeing a picture of him makes it hit home, I can't imagine what it took to tell his family. I would have been in tears the whole time.

I agree, some kind of sticky thread for avalanche deaths.

7 of us went up and got Dave's sled today. Pretty eerie feeling up there, but we had to do it. We thought we'd go have a quick snoop but found it right away. I took up a property post corner pin metal detecter and we found it right at the end of the avy and only 10' from where we found Dave. It's an xp 163 and it held up pretty good. It did get a little twisted up, the rear part of the tunnel was twisted up on one side and the steering post was bent pretty bad, also missing the windsheild and a few little cosmetic parts but it fired right up second pull and it was luckily rideable. We then tried poking our way up the back side through the tree's up toward my sled , but it started getting dark so we had to pull the plug. I'm thinking of going up Sunday. It should be fairly easy (I hope) cause we busted a pretty good trail 1/2 of the way up and around. It feels good to have Dave's sled home!

Take solace in the fact that he left you doing what he loved and always know that God takes everyone home and I'm sure he is watching you and wishing he was there every time you ride.

My prayers are with all of you.

sorry to hear and thanks for sharing your story.thoughts and condolences(?):rose:

Ken, I am so sorry for your loss and his family's loss. That's tragic.

I wish you luck on retrieving your sled successfully today.
