An obervation from a Polaris owner.

Actually it was a roundabout way to say get off your high horse to some of the Poo guys. I guess you took it as a poke at the motors, sorry. I guess a lot of people did. That was not the intention. You get tired of hearing about Poo motors I get tired of hearing about how Polaris is so freaking awesome when they have their own problems that people want to overlook. So touché I guess is in order.

You are completely right on the dealer. The full motor was their fault. Dealer told me no warranty on RV motors. So be it.

This could perpetuate into a book so I am done talking about the 8.

BTW: Loved my RMK 900. Love our RMK 600, RMK 500, and Trail RMK. Not all their motor designs are bad.

All brands have their problems. There is no denying that. But when we think about what these sleds can do, and what the engines produce, it's amazing they even hold together one ride.I mean lets really step back and look what we are asking these sleds to do. We have a twin cylinder engine putting out 160 hp naturally aspirated, spinning 8000+ rpms, and guys are on and off the throttle, putting impact loading on engines, cranks, clutches, belts, the entire drive train. They are started in 0* weather and guys whine when it takes more than 2-3 pulls. They spend their days pinned to the bars, spinning and ripping through bottomless powder. The sleds have to be designed not to injest the powder that is coming over the hood. Sleds are launched off cliffs, cornice drops, kickers, etc. and they have to take the impact loading of landing. A guy catches a stump and whines because he bent an S module in a doo, a on a cat, or broke the glued bond on a poo arm. The guy that whines about this says poo should have dropped another 9 lbs like it would take nothing to do, so he can have a sub 400 lb sled out of the crate. These things have to be mass produced because we all want one, so inherent problems with the 1 in 1000 will always be there. Then we bitch because the price increases on a new model with the latest and greatest technology. Also, don't forget, these sleds have to meet emissions standards which are getting stricter by the day and noise standards so we don't piss off the greenies.

When you really step back and look at what these sleds can do and what we expect them to do, it's no wonder there are issues. And every brand has those issues. Just give these things a little extra love and look at where technology is today. We ride places on all brands that we wouldn't even have thought about riding just a mere 10 years ago. Pick a sled, ride it, and try to wipe that stupid looking grin off your face before you take your helmet off.

We've been riding sleds like that for 20 plus years. It's really not untill the EPA got involved and the 800 cc's that we can't seem to get a reliable engine.

poo has like 90 hp at 9000 feet.LOL

I suppose A naturally aspirated doo doesn't feel any effects of thinner air. How do you have any credibility with anyone. I've never seen you post a single note worthy thing. I would be impressed if I saw a post of yours that was more than one sentence. Even a complete sentence would be a big step.

Maybe it's just me, but when I spend $12k+ on a toy, I expect certain things of it - starting in cold weather being the least of my expectations. Also, I am taking it miles away from civilization and into some of the harshest conditions on the planet. It damn sure better get me home. As long as it is maintained properly, I EXPECT my sled to perform.

As far the rest - ride what you like, greenies, and EPA, I'm with ya 100%!

I can't believe how many poo guys troll the pc forum. You guys sure are an insecure bunch. I haven't been in the pro forum since 2012ish. You guys are kinda pathetic for feeling the need to stick up for your flavor of koolaid in a different brands sub forum.

I browse all of them. When I see a thread I think would be interesting, I click and read. I don't go to any particular forum. Not insecurity, I just like reading all learning about what everyone has
