2013/14 Snowy Range snow conditions

I personally drove all over that mountain yesterday and found no snow, it's all piled up at Dan's house.

You ain't just a kiddin', :D. A day and a half and full tank of fuel through the loader and I finally found the house.

Went up today expecting snow like last Friday. It was good but the wind and temp kinda had it's way with it. Lot's of go anywhere snow though.

Out for a rip.....

I am gonna dream of sledding for the next few nights....... I wanna come down there but none of the guys I ride with want to drive that far. Is there anyone around there that will take a non-local out and show them around for a day? Whats a good place to stay? Whats it like during the week, many people out? I am self employed so I can almost take off and ride anytime for as long as I want. If anyone is interested in riding next week from sunday till weds PM me.:face-icon-small-win

this keeps getting better each week so I am going to keep posting it - (I guess I am superstitious)

Went up and Fixed the warming hut yesterday. Snow is setting up fast. Wind is killing it. Betting if you get it the trees it is going to be awesome. We didn't have time to do that being that it was getting late.

Did you put a new door knob on it?

Conditions

How are the conditions on the Saratoga side right now? We are headed down tomorrow. Is the powder still good or has the sun and wind set everything up?
Tks

Pretty much set up, couple to three inches yesterday. You're going to have to work pretty hard to get stuck.

Snowmobilers, Fellow Backcountry Users and Winter Enthusiasts,
The Snowy Range Snowmobile Club would like to invite you to participate in a FREE Avalanche Awareness Clinic taught by the professionals from the Bridger Teton Avalanche Center in Jackson, Wyoming.
The Club is offering two sets of classroom and field sessions that are open to ALL interested winter enthusiasts. This program is designed to give winter backcountry travelers information on identifying avalanche terrain, travel techniques, snow pack conditions and safety factors. The field sessions will look first hand at snowpack observation, terrain factors, beacon use, probing and shovel techniques.
Classroom sessions are Friday, February 21 and Saturday February 22 at 6pm at the Laramie Holiday Inn, 204 S 30th St. Classroom sessions are open to all and no registration is needed. Come and learn from folks who do this for a living.
Field Sessions will be held Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23 at 8am somewhere in the Snowy Range. Sign up in advance is required as space is limited. You must attend a classroom session to participate. We encourage participants to bring transceiver, probe and shovel if they have them. We will break into snowmobile and ski/snowshoe groups each day. Field session participants will meet with instructors after the classroom sessions for an orientation.
For more information or to sign up please email srscwy@gmail.com or visit http://www.srscwy.com/AvyClassFEB2014ST.htm
A flyer for the event is attached.
This Bridger Teton Avalanche Center clinic is being hosted by the Snowy Range Snowmobile Club with support from the United States Forest Service, Medicine Bow National Forest and the Wyoming State Trails Program. It is funded through a Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Diversified Grant.
Please feel free to share this through email, social media and print.

Anyone know of a place in Laramie that would recover a snowmobile seat? Called McKims and he wanted 200 bucks. Got to be someone that does it for cheaper.

For most sleds you can buy a new cover (looking at your sig, if it's for a iq poo it's super easy.)

It was $80 bucks for a all black on for my pro.. It's pretty simple- pop the staples, pull the old on off- align the new one , pull tight and staple = done In 30min total.. Hope this helps

Yep snows pretty well setup. Had to work real hard to get stuck. Wouldnt go unless they get a dumping soon. But got a little reminder pic that has dumb stamped all over it...
