2013/14 Snowy Range snow conditions

Went up after a half work day for a quick solo ride. It was ridiculous. I went to Brooklyn Lake and turned around. Less than 20 miles on the odometer but the etec ate 1/2 a tank of fuel, throttle to the bar most of the ride. Stupid fun
Went out today, just puttin around since I was solo again, but snapped a few photos. Went up to go splitboard on some lower angle terrain on Brown's but the snow was really wet/grabby on the base of my snowboard so after one lap I just rode the sled. Off and on sunny but there was some graupel around noon. Watched two small wet slides on the steep faces around 1:30-2:00pm. As always, better than the couch!

Great time to show the kids around the mountain.
Snow is perfect for exploring with the kids. It's also perfect snow to work on your cat-walking skills... and there is still A LOT of snow up top.
Can't believe the forest service is shutting down off trail riding in 6 days.

Went up this afternoon, raining on the drive, then it cleared up for a great evening ride. Last legal day of the season in the snowies with plenty of snow left...
Yeah no kidding. Measured 2.2 meters with my avy probe during a break in a not particularly deep spot. What a bad joke. Guess I'll take my $ south of the border for June.

My dad got the reverse 911 call yesterday about 7pm. No mandatory evac for them yet. We were up there last weekend and there is still snow in the trees by our cabin and around Rob Roy. Really wet up high, I guess it must be drier down lower.....
