Three of us are from the Willmar/Litchfield area one from Mora we worked together and usually ride the Bemidji/Red Lake area Glad to hear that It can get xtreme as u want kinda wanting to have the guys push themselves to give them the outwest feel without too much danger my opinion is if your gonna go to the mts your gonna have to ride in ways that your a little uncomfortable with otherwise you might as well just trail ride. Luckily a guy sent us w an xrs with an inch and three quarter in case someone bonzais their sled downhill tree bound. so well have an xtra. Coming down via billings anyone know where we could rent beacons on the drive or just do it online anyone renting got a good supplier they reccomend? Thanks cant wait were all so JACKED!!!

Wicked pissa just a pionter for ya you dont have to go all the way to billings. Take the short cut down to Hardin if i remember right its exit 47 check your map to be sure on the exit # it will cut some drive time off for ya.:face-icon-small-coo

Prob better go down through billings if you are staying at high country its about 5 miles from the lot vs. about a 45min of trail riding from bear lodge. Take it from me you wanna go up the lovell side

Snow

Only about 2 inches so far...not coming down fast...we'll see what happens by morning.

I need a sled....looking for an 800, 2004-2007, 159"-163" track. Name brand not a big deal...I just need to feel comfortable on it. Got $3000 available right now.......with business picking up might have more soon. Anyone got a 3rd or 4th back up sled they wanna help me out with?

I like to check ksl.com for sleds. I am pretty far east, but it seems like a good outlet. There is a TON of sleds on there.

Snow

Light flurries most of the night....saw clear skies a few times....no more than 2 1/2 inches in the last 24 hours...some wind blowing going on...

How about an update for the southern horns? Depth? 2ft, 3ft, 4ft? Snow quality? Powder, windblown, tracked up, sugar, base, heavy? Comparison to last year this time?

Just had a wonderful weekend at High Country Lodge........yes only few inches there but took Dayton gulch rd back to Bear and between lick and lake creek there was a foot of fresh.

Snow update

4 more inches last night...total of 6 new in the last 36 hrs. People are still finding deep powder, untouched in the area. Windy yesterday...was pretty well tracked from Fiberglass hill to Dayton Gulch but still powder in areas...just have to go looking. We are sitting on 3-4 depths and up to 6 ft in wind blown areas. Visibility was bad yesterday so only saw 2 sleds and then 3 rangers on sleds showed up late in the day. Sunny already and 24 degree's. Got 6 guests coming in today for 3 nights so we'll see what they find. They like hunting for fresh stuff.

Any new updates? I see the forecast calls for a few inches. Hope it's enough to fill in some of the tracks from the last few weekends.

Snow update....

Received 6 inches last night...flurries today....almost all tracks are filled in thanks to 40mph winds yesterday while it was snowing...I came back from Burgess Jct about 2pm yesterday in snowstorm (had guests waiting for dinner) Came back South H (14a) because of time...was going from marker to marker all the way back. Had to stop several times because I could not see the markers because of wind and snow. Might have been quicker North H afterall....made it though and felt more comfortable being out on trails by myself in snowstorm. If all else had failed I would have just pulled over and waited a couple hours for the groomer to come by and hitch a ride with him.

Snow again

Well, I went to bed expecting 7-8 inches of new snow when I got up......I knew something was wrong when the door to the 5th wheel was a little hard to push open this morning.....16 inches of snow is on the ground and it's still coming down hard!! (knew I shouldn't have worn my slippers to the trailer last night...it was a cold walk to the lodge)

Top rail of the fence is finally buried in areas.:cheer2:

We did not book up rooms for this weekend until 2 weeks ago. Keep us in mind for future reservations...they told me yesterday we have just begun for the snow levels....
