Congrats Corey and dawn elk view is nice and will be a great move for you. See you when the snow flies.

Are the new managers the ones that were posted here by Wyosteph? Doesn't matter how good of people they are. If the owner is an ahole which may be the case by the way he went about what he did, then to heck with that place. You just don't treat people like that. Seems like High Country has a rep of a new manager a year, that may speak volumes about the owner.

the people are originally from north carolina i think. Im not sure on the pro wilderness thing. from what they said to us is that they were in north dakota at the oil fields running man camps. how they ended up here im not sure. they also said that they were looking forward to winter and seing sledders. so like i said i have good things to say about them. i met larry the owner and i can honestley say the problem is not the mangers! We had our trip planned for 2 months and when you are comming from 900 miles away you kind of have to go with what happens.corey was nothing but great setting up the plans and they honered what he set up so that is my perspective.

Glad Corey and his wife found a job still on the Bighorn good for you two. I have no problem with people being pro wildrness long as they don't F with my snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, hunting, and fishing if they do then they can go to hell.

i feel the same way, this is still america and we all have the right to do our own thing. couldnt have said it better myself. and 7 managers in 7 years id say they probably wont be there long.

Really?????? Are you kidding??????? The pro wilderness people are exactly the ones who are messing with your snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, hunting and fishing

Exactly!

I think some people need to be educated!! Pro wilderness people are the main reason we have to fight to keep our areas open!

I am saying is we need some control, cause more and more I see people riding there 4 wheelers off the trail ruining the land because they are to lazy to get off and walk 30 yards, to look at something then ride on. This goes on during the summer and during hunting season. I've seen tracks go down closed roads to get to a stream to fish just so they don't have to walk a little. I've seen snowmobiles ride in wilderness areas and other areas that are closed to snowmobiles just because there is good snow. These are the type of people that are causing the government to close more roads, close more snowmobile areas, outlaw riding, so yes some type of wilderness control is necessary so we don't lose any more riding area then we already have. It only takes a few A holes to ruin it for everyone, but run everybody off that gives a **** and see where we will be in 5-10 years.

Pro wilderness people would mess with your ability to ride whether that stuff you mentioned was happening or not. Their agenda is to shut everything down to motorized use whether it be on road, off road or over snow travel. It doesn't matter. I agree that the idiots in our sport and summer sports are making us look bad, but if they all disappeared tomorrow the pro wilderness people would still be trying to lock us out.

Yes I agree those type of wilderness people are a problem (democrat) they do try to drive us out of everywhere. I just saying there needs to be some people that care so that the idiots don't ruin it for all of us.

Current snow conditions in the Bighorns sucks!!!! Better hold off another week or 2 yet!!!! :face-icon-small-ton

Skidoorulz and I took off this morning on the bikes and rode the loop, Billings to Lovell, over the top to Dayton and back home. About 300 miles round trip. Got to see the winter playground with no snow. Also stopped in at Elk View for lunch and got to visit with Corey and Dawnie. They seem to really like it there, was good to visit with them.

I am Yellowstone bound right now with the 5th wheel for a little camping trip. On the way home we are going east of Cody, through the horns, and staying in deadwood. His was the food? Is it pretty busy through there this time of year?

The food at Elk View is excellent, and they give you alot. You wont leave hungry. There was a fair amount of traffic on the road today but not bad. The lodges didnt seem to be very busy though. We got to Elk view right about lunch time and no more than 3 tables taken up the whole time we were there.
