Idk if many people know it or not but when u stay at high country last year they prepare you a supper that was probably the best I have ever had. Had a homemade salad, great ribeye, and some sort of chocolate brownie ice cream dessert that was off the chart delicious. I am lactose in tolerate but it was so damn good I ate the ice cream anyway.

smilyncor what are your winter rates. An earlier post on this thread said quite a bit less than what the website says. Maybe the prices that people are seeing on your site are keeping your rooms empty. If the cost is truly less at this time of year, you should post what they are or show winter and summer rates on your site. Also interested on who owns the High Country. Lack of liquor wouldn't keep me away so I wouldn't be to concerned about the fact you don't have it.

Good weekend

Hello all,

We had 83 people stop by this weekend. Starting to see repeat customers. Wife did Lasagna for lunch yesterday in addition to chili and burgers. It went fast.

No snow last night like forcasted. We are down to 23 inches around the lodge.

Took a guests luggage back to Burgess Junction yesterday and came back along north H trail then M, R and L. There are still spots where people have not been. There are open areas no one has been on but the tall grass is showing thru the snow so probably only 2 ft or less in those areas. (no rocks) Couple spots on H where the sides of the roads are visible but only at higher altitude. Some logging roads have not been travelled yet and some numbered roads are untouched too. Still sunny and light winds. I would say don't always believe what you see and call us directly for our specials. The specials are also posted on the website www.wyhighcountry.net under Blog pages. Still sitting empty.

Rode in to Canyon Creek today, there's not much snow left and the trail has some dirt spots. Stopped at Deer Haven on the way home and it looks worse around there. We need snow.

I rode the south side two weeks ago and it was pretty bad, probably a foot and half in most places with dirt underneath! We had fun, just had to be really careful!!

Ryan

Thanks.. Just need to shake down a couple sleds. The Hills is pretty bleak also, so that is the next closest stop.

Rode Granite pass and Owen Creek area today and all I can say is WOW! I am not a pessimist but I am not going back till they receive more snow. We did find a couple of spots that had some deep crystally snow that you could get it to come up over the hood while farting around, But most of it was wind blown hard pack and when you did fall through earlier frozen tracks were brutal. We did have good food at The Elk View on our way home though. I read the snow condition report at the Elk View and they rated the overall conditions as a 4 out of 10.

Have to go way up high and off the beaten path to find anything. Spent couple hours in untouched 4+. Will post pics when I have cell service. Going to take 2ft + to get us back to the first week of december.

Granite, Owens, Antelope Butte had more rigs than I've ever seen in the lots.

Got deeper from here, Long ride in to get there.

Yeah i live in ranchester and wont be making the 30min drive untill we get more snow. Its getting sad up there. Anyone going North to canada have room for another?

We had a sacrificial bon fire and snow dance last night... It worked!
